amen to that. Or just don't ship outside of your own country.

Even in your own country don't do any form of trading, sending or recieving, unless it is going to be tracked at minimum and insured if valuable. It is not worth it when there is potential for a situation where an item disappears and neither the buyer or seller have any idea if the other person really sent the item or received the item. Postal theft both during transit and off the doorstep when it arrives is aways going to be an issue when postal services keep no record of what items they are handling, where they are and if they have actually been delivered.

I don't know Frogbear. It's not badly painted. Has a reasonable amount of models. If he's wanting to get a reasonable return on his time painting them.

But it's one of the reasons I've never went in for painting armies to sell, people are not willing to pay for the time. I might spend 2 hours painting a stand of chaos marines, to really high standards. Whose going to pay me a reasonable wage for that.

there is 130 stands there. so your paying 76p for the model and the painting of each one.

Uhm. That is 100 pounds for models that are either rarely or not used.

They are also all on square bases

Seeing I could probably pick up all those minis up for a reasonable price of anywhere between AUS$20 - $40, that price is too expensive.

If your buying the models just for the models yes it's too high, I wouldn't buy them. However if you were a Net-Epic player that wanted a nicely painted army as you don't have the time to paint it sounds quite reasonable.

this is a fun one I've been watching:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT
unless I'm missing something (there's possibly 1 1/2 warhosts) his starting bid pretty much comes to what that would cost to buy new. I've thought about offering the guy something, but I'd doubt he'd bite at 1/2 that :( (or that I could get that one past the wife!)

Yes you could buy it new, but then you would not have his 'wonderful' paint job! :D

The free shipping could possibly save you some money.

Well, I offered him $100 and he said he could go down to $150 shipped but no lower, so I passed. Seems a reasonable guy, just a little unrealistic with his expectations. Besides, armies almost always go for more in bits rather than whole, but people just don't seem to realise that.

I would agree with you
But sometimes its different
e.g metal warlord weapons in a lot are sometimes more expensive than single ones
but there are big differences between 2 auctions
I have seen a horde of nids (1 complete SM/TL Inf. box, glued) going away for 100 pounds
and another one still in box going away for 50 pounds

Tha last weeks there was a bunch of NIB Knights(lancers paladins, errants, and Command Knights)
The first errant/lancer blisters went away for 30-40 pounds or more
the command errant and lancer knights for 20 pounds

A week later more new Knights blisters tunred up from another seller.
The command knights still went away for 20 pounds
But the errants and lancer knights only for 15 pounds!
thats 50-70% less

Another example are these OOP metal EPIC Space Marines
I saw a lot (5 minis) going away for 50 pounds!
and the next one only for 5 pounds.

There is something wrong on e-bay ;)
