I totally agree. That's why I have only 8 unopened ones and about the same number of deployed ones, which is not enough to drop a company of Marines. Drop pods are among the minis that I really wish I had bought when they were first released.

It won't be surprised if the winning bid is over £100.

I dig all that from a nostalgia standpoint but when there's fantastic, and in my opinion far superior, proxies for them out there now it's hard to justify these prices.

For instance the Spartan Games Land Driller is a totally a better model in all ways for a Hellbore

Mmmm, true.

But given the choice, if it were its original price and if their was no difference in the price between the two which would you choose ?

I'm GW hellbore all the way.

Very nice scratch build drop pods Apocolocyntosis! Sadly my model making skills aren't up to much so I'll probably stick with the old simpler design when I attempt to tackle this!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed you manage to steal that Hellbore Dogtrooper! You deserve to win it after such a patient wait! And I always like the idea that people who actually play the game rather than just collectors win these items. Good luck!

If they were both in active production then GW but only from the perspective that I want GW to see that people will purchase epic and other specialist games items if they are made available. Kinda the reason that I buy wendy rhino's even though there were alternatives that were far nicer.

But as that line of reasoning is based in some bizzaro world where GW isn't full of delusional marketing MBA pukes and actively supports its fan base and since we're all playing along in fantasy-land then my above reasoning wouldn't make a difference and therefore Spartan Games FTW =D

You can tell the difference as the Hellbore has the plastic track section and the forward cab section on the crawler. What is the going rate for a Hellbore these days? I started selling off my CI's as I thought that they would be the money makers and I prefer the Hellbore a lot, but CI's may have dropped in value a little for some reason and I got about £45 for a MiB unassebled one. Not bad, but I am sure they used to go for closer to £70.

If Hellbores go for more, I could be persuaded to let a couple of mine go!

Thanks, but I really like the Hellbore as a vehicle, so if I sold any I would be looking for top prices... and therefore be a part of the problem. :D
