... is the name of a combined Future War Commander / Full Thrust campaign we`re starting (well, the prelude has already) at our local games club. With FWC being new to most players, we`re starting small scale battles and gradually build up towards a finale (in about 1 year from now, as it`s a campaign that`s going to run for 12 months) with an aim of around 15k points a side. Since games are going to be played on fridays (the occassional weekend long multiplayer excluded), I`ve started a sort of newsletter on our clubforum, with a new episode each friday night / saturday morning detailing the events that have transpired the eve of battle, and this is then filled up during the week with reports of the game, pictures of freshly painted units etc etc by the players. It`s the second time I run this sort of campaign, three years ago we did a Flames of War / Victory at Sea version (with Italy winning ww2, but that`s a detail) and learned that this sort of campaign tends to `hold out` that long due to the players not being obliged to play each and every week, the map doesn`t generate the battles, but the battles sketch out the map, and that it allows for occasional players to get involved, pick a game and still become a note in the whole result and backstory. For thsoe wanting to take a peak or keeping track of it, the `newsletter` can be found at http://www.tsa.topforums.be/index.php?topic=4937.0 Ciao ciao |
