Hey folks,

Details of an event a couple of friends and I are running in Cardiff Firestorm Games, 11th March 23.

This is an attempt to try and do something a bit different. As the tournament scene is already very well catered for with the Epic UK events instead this is a demo/introduction of classic Space Marine Epic (1991 version with 1994 Titan Legions). It's aimed at people who perhaps used to play the game back in the day, haven't for many years (or perhaps weren't even born back then!), perhaps like 40k and are intrigued and want to give Epic scale a go.

So it's completely free - massive battle taking place across a couple of tables. Idea is people just turn up and take control of a company or two and can step in and out as they like. Those of us who used to take part in local GW 'mega battles' on a Saturday afternoon will have some idea of what we are trying to run (and possibly letting ourselves in for haha).

Hopefully will be advertised on the Firestorm Games site in due course, where they will be selling free 'tickets' to get some idea of attendance. Will also be advertising across a few of the forums and 40k FB groups.

Well it looks like this has really hit some sort of nerve and the initial allocation of tickets have completely gone! I think there was some surprise at how much attention it received on Firestorm's Facebook page.

There are now some more tickets available and we are running on a time-slot basis (about 6 players per hour).

Hey guys, well just a couple of weeks now until the demo event. The initial allocation of tickets (although they are free) has been expanded to 18, those had all gone but we've had a couple of cancellations. We're hoping to divide the table into 6 players at a time (3 a side) and hour slots, which will hopefully give as many people as possible a chance to have a go. Tried to encourage as many people as possible to come and watch even if they can't get a ticket, as it's a big table and there will be room (and as it's free, am sure there will be some no shows).

But we've had the practice games, all the terrain and minis are ready, now just to hope it's a fun event and hopefully get some people playing Epic! Fingers crossed, will be sure to post some pics and point people in the direction of this forum if they'd like to learn more.
