I'm looking at getting into Epic Armageddon, having bought the rules when they were released...

While I'd ideally like to find some Epic Armageddon players locally, I'd also be willing to play NetEA, NetEpic or in fact any version of the rules.

I live in Fife, between Perth and St. Andrews, so please get in touch is you're local, well local for Scotland that is!

There have been tournaments in Glasgow before e.g. https://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd ... it=glasgow Maybe message some of the Scottish players in that thread and ask about finding locals?

Epic Armageddon is by far the most popular edition and still has a healthy tournament scene in the UK (10 tournaments for it in different cities around the UK in 2019 before Covid hit). It might be further than you'd wish to travel but there's going to be a two day Epic tournament in Daventry in November. One of the Glasgow players sometimes flies down for Southern tournaments.

Net-EA is Epic Armageddon by the way, it's an international set of Epic Armageddon army lists developed online, whereas in the UK the tournaments use lists developed by the Epic UK tournament group instead - see here for these: http://epic-uk.co.uk/wp/army-lists/

Sorry for laet reply.
We have three players in Glasgow (Dan- me, Gerry, and John).
Two players near Edinburgh.
Truth is most tournaments require going South to get numbers, pre-Covid, we thought about hosting in York.
Give me a shout if Glasgow is reachable,.

GlynG - thanks for the tip, I've been in touch with a couple of Scottish players.

Dan 1314 - Glasgow isn't unreachable, at least not in the slightly longer term.

Dave - Edinburgh gamers should be good, I'll try and find Orkrush.

I hopefully will be having a game or two in the near future with another new player at Common Ground Games in Stirling, so progress is most definitely being made.

1st post.

Some friends & I have recently started frothing over EA after a break of <cough> a couple of years. I think Space Marine (2nd ed?) was the last version I actually played a game of.

Anyway, we’re based in Glasgow too & are attempting our 3rd game of EUK tonight at the Tradeston club. Short notice I know, but anyone is welcome to pop in & tell us we’re doing it wrong.

Tonight it’ll be Tau vs Guard at 3000 points as they’re the only 2 complete* armies. Nids & Chaos Marines are currently under construction; Necrons & Imperial Fists still at the planning phase.

*like any army is ever complete

Hi Andy,

Ironically, I am playing tonight otherwise I would have popped over.
When we started playing, we made a royal arse of interpreting the rules, so when I attended my first tournament I discovered that we were playing a very different game :( - so definelty a good idea to check anything you are not sure off.
I would also recommend using proxies until youve found what units you want in your list (I have a large cokllection of units that will never see active engagement bcause i bought first - which was a costly mistake. - e.g. Plague Towers..).

Feel free to give me a shout if you have any rules arguments/questions, ive hosted quite a few tournaments, so (at least until Covid came a long) I'm quite up on the rules.

Excuse resurrecting an old thread but a guy called Dave Burns on the Epic facebook group bemoaned having Epic armies but not having anyone to play in a decade. I asked and he lives in Falkirk, which is up your Scotlandy sort of way.

Could any of you Scotts players get in touch and play him?

Also the other day another guy on facebook called Lee McColl wants to get into Epic too and lives in Edinburgh. Meet and play him too Epic players?

Hey, just a follow up on this post.

Me and another four guys from around the central area of scotland are going to be meeting once a month in different locations around scotland. So far theres glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk, Bathgate and Edinburgh.

So, we are looking for more people to join us. Also, going to create a wee FB page for those who may want to join us.

PM sent to Hypotastic, but for public consumption, I reckon we could rustle up 3 different players from the Greater Glasgow area with the possibility of another couple depending on commitments. A couple of loaner armies could be made available too.

Hi, I'm In Ayrshire and keen to get some games with my Orks. I see an event/get together planned in 2 weeks in Stirling. If I can get a pass from the boss, I may travel through and join, if room to do so. Will keep posted and have joined the FB group. (Mark Flanagan).
