Hi everybody,

The International Warlord Challenge 2020 follows the event organized in 2009 and in 2010 in Brussels, Belgium and in Lyon in 2017 and 2019. This year it will be still in Lyon, France with the goal to gather 8 Epic Armaggedon
teams from France, Europe and (who knows) the world !
This is an Epic Armaggedon tournament of 8 teams of 4 players maximum.



REGISTRATION
The cost of the registration is 40€. Please pay with Paypal to xaviermailletAThotmail.fr (use option payment to a friend please - no commission-AT=@).
Please send your registration to this email address as well.
The cost will include the tournament itself, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, a snack on Saturday evening and … a little nice surprise for all players.



RULES AND ARMIES

Every player has to create a 3500 points list for the Grand Tournament Scenario of the rulebook.
Armies full paint, less 3 colors.
Team of 4 players
1 of players are the captain.
Each team must have:
1 army of Imperium
1 army of chaos
1 army of xénos
1 free army

The International Warlord Challenge 2020 will be based on the work of the FERC (French Epic Rules Committe)

The rulebook can be seen on the website of F-ERC. It’s the regular rulebook of the game EA.

The lists will be checked by the organizers of the event before the weekend.

I would like to go. Should I fly directly into Lyon? What hotels are near the event?

The wife says only if she can tag along. Not to play but to do, see French things.

Dear m-folais,
you will have the answers to some of your questions in this document. Dans les vols que j'ai pu consulter, il y a toujours une escale entre Lyon et Londres.

I know that the period is complicated to project so far. But no costs will be incurred before September 15th, I will still be able to reimburse the registration until this date and maybe even a little later. I will have great pleasure to see the English-speaking players who have the solitude used to truste the first 3 places of the tournament.


I hope to see old faces and maybe new ones, do not hesitate to ask questions on this subject, I promise to go there much more often in order to be able to inform you at best.

I hope my spelling is not too bad, I admit that I use google trad for these long messages, but I understand and I can manage in spoken English, and there will be French English players for assist me.

Hi, be careful, registrations are only taken into account for a group of 4 participants, you must assemble a team and then register for 4 ;D

Hello, if there are ever other players interested in this tournament, I can try to find French players to complete the team, but do not incur any costs while the team is not made up.

RichardL and myself went last year to the event and it was fantastic and being a phillistine who can only speak English was not a barrier to joining in.

If you can find a way to go I do recommend giving it a try. I'll be asking around for making a team...

Hi,

RichardL and myself want to put together a Team England for this.

I don't think anyone will commit 100% due to uncertainty around travel restrictions, what virus prevention rules, etc. will be in place at that time but we're definitely eager to come along :)

Hi Scutari and Richard,

Unfortunately for us, after going around the official and unofficial organizers, the 2020 IWC session has to be canceled for this year.

The reasons are various but mainly concern the health situation. Indeed, when I launched the registrations at the end of containment, I was convinced that the covid would be ancient history in early September. Obviously, I was seriously wrong.

Suddenly, here is an anthology of the reasons which lead to this cancellation:

- risk of cancellation at the last moment of the agreement because of an uncertain health situation.
-Risk of cancellation amplified on the one hand from the players due to covid / resumption of the epidemic / impossibility of coming
-Risk of quarantine requirement for foreign players
-Obligation of masks and health rules during the convention


In short, that's quite a good reason.

But I keep the project in mind for 2021 because it seems that the system of the team tournament has strongly motivated you. I hope that this motivation will continue and that you will be as many for the IWC 2021!

We had high hopes and many prayers that France and the EU would open in time for US travelers. In the back of my mind I knew we would get screwed. All this year's events stateside had been canceled in the summer. Please donate whatever the event fee was to the supporting club.

If France and the EU open to US travelers, we will come anyways. There is more than enough to see and experience in France! Maybe I will even get to meet someone to play!

I will try and plan for next year.
