Hi guys,

Apologies for the delay in getting this thread up.

The 2020 EUK Championship is kicking off with Winter Warmer on Sat Jan 18th, at The Old Duke in Bristol (same venue as last year). Tickets are £20, and are available via the EUK site here: http://epic-uk.co.uk/wp/event-calendar/winter-warmer.

In a slight change from the norm, this years event will be three games at 2500 points.
This is to provide something slightly different, and see some different builds (hopefully) used.

Lists are to be chosen from the EUK approved lists and are due by middnight on Fri 10th of Jan.

The schedule is :-

09:30 – 10:00 – Registration and Welcome.
10:00 – 12:15- Game 1
12:15 – 13:15 – Lunch
13:15 – 15:45 – Game 2
16:00 – 18:15 – Game 3
18:15 – 18:45 – Awards, tidy up, vanish into the Bristol night...

Getting there & Parking.
There is nearby on street parking, an NCP (both pricy, so plan ahead) and the venue is within walking distance of Bristol Temple Meads train station.
Address is 45 King Street, BS1 4ER to be precise.

I should be along. Was there any discussion of going back to the old format of open lists? At the moment that would be more attractive to me than a different points level game, as I could have bought my Nids.

Big question would be if going with open lists will we be able to get more players to attend?

Sure! I don’t think it would make much difference either way.

Out of curiosity what do you mean by 'open' lists?

Not being restricted to EpicUK lists. So NetEA, FERC etc. Obviously this stops it being an EpicUK event, but it used to be a nice opportunity to use and face a wider variety of armies.

Anyway, it’s not a big thing, it’s mostly that Jon had wanted a grudge match vs my Nids, but they’re built around the FERC list and would fare... poorly if fielded using the EpicUK list...

Longshot but if any of you have an army worth of 80s Epic Imperial Guard infantry you don't want stashed away my housemate Ryan is thinking of getting back into Epic. He used to be a tournament regular and started running the Winter Warmer tournaments many years ago and used to post on the forum as 'Man of Kent'.

He's keen to use original retro 80s GW infantry not 3rd party or more recent models. I happen to have an army's worth of old guard vehicles and rough riders I could give him to repaint but I don't have any infantry. I'm posting it here as well as the trade forum as if one of you does happen to have some he might just make it to the winter warmer, otherwise some other tournament later next year.

Was a decision made on sticking to Epic-UK lists or allowing certain extra ones? I'm not bothered either way personally and I can see pluses and minuses to each.

I was chatting to Elsmore and he is thinking of coming if he can get the day off and maybe using his new Sisters of Battle but he won't have enough to use if he can't use the Sisters war engines (that sadly got dropped when the Epic-UK version of the list got made).

Hey Y'all!

Long time no see! I hear that I owe Elsmore (I think? Glyn is this correct?!) a BIG thanks for shipping out a bunch of MK1 plastic guard: I'm looking forward to getting a rough and ready army painted up and coming down to play Epic again with you all for a bit. Haven't seen many of you in a while.

Daz: I'll grab a ticket these next few days as finances allow :-).
