Well, that was good fun!

Thanks to Steve54 for organising and running everything again. Fun weekend, with games against Knights, Marines and three(!) Iron Warrior armies.

Congrats to Rich on taking the win, and to Nat for putting in a solid performance with a never played before list to snatch the Plate title on a tiebreaker!

Can’t recall who won the Championship.

See you all in the new year for Winter Warmer.

Cheers
Reedar

Question:
Ain't Richards army list illegal? And if not, it should be! :D No offense here, just curious if there was an error during copy-pasting the lists to the Championship page

Adeptus Titanicus
Reaver (Powerfist, Melta, Warp Missile)+Legate
Cerastus+Seneschal
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris
Questoris

"The army must include one Battle Titan with an additional Battle Titan required for up to
every full one thousand points over and above two thousand points in the army"
So
0001 - 2000 Pts = 1 Titan
2001 - 3000 Pts = 2 Titans
3001 - 4000 Pts = 3 Titans
etc.

Thats correct?

The army is correct, the list on E-UK currently has some errors however, aparently it was copied incorrectly from the previous AMTL list, and as it stands there are no battle titan restrictions. I'd been curious when i'd read it as Tim had mentioned previously they'd tried out an all knight army during testing, which obviously you couldn't do with that restriction in place. Also, if you look at Tim's Britcon list it only has 2 battle titans at 4k rather than the 3 that would have been necessary.

Tbh though i'd be interested to try it with dual combat reavers, as the one i was using was an absolute beast!

Ok, so the "official" PDF file is wrong and the restriction on bottom of pg 8 is nil? Kinda wierd.

Any plans to include "new" Knight variants like the Acastus? What about planes now freely available (again) via Aeronautica?

so you read from 2001 - 3000 is only 999 so no need to take the second? or if a 3k game two get deployed?

I’d have ruled Richard’s list illegal and refused to play it as is if I’d come up against it at the tournament as it breaks the requirement in the published list. I’d want to see the list pdf changed before allowing a list with only a single titan and honestly that makes the list broken and I think would be a terrible idea that hopefully won’t happen. I'm not surprised a knight spam list won the tournament.

The claim the requirement to take battle titans is a copy and paste error accidentally still left in when copying the older AMTL to make the AT pdf doesn’t stand up if you compare the two:
The AMTL list says “The army must include at least one Warlord Class Battle Titan. You must include one additional Battle Titan for every full one thousand points over and above two thousand points in the army.”
The AT list instead says “The army must include one Battle Titan with an additional Battle Titan required for up to every full one thousand points over and above two thousand points in the army.”

It’s less restrictive in that you can take two Reavers rather than needing a Warlord, but 2 battle titans are clearly required in a 3k army in the list as written and it's a deliberate requirement written in not an accident.

If players want an all knights list the existing knights list covers that well already, so that doesn’t need to be an option here too.

Given you don't know the full facts on this one, i'll fill you in a bit. I did query it with Tim (who wrote the list) as the rule shown in the codex wasn't compatible with either the list he took to Britcon, or some of the lists he'd used during testing that we'd discussed previously. He confirmed that particular rule shouldn't have been in the codex before i even started list design, and that he hadn't spotted it had been left in there when checking it over. Whether it should remain as is or amended somewhat is a different matter, and i'm sure the E-UK Organisers will have a think about it.

Personally i think it's a pretty decent build, but has a degree of the same 'shock and awe' effect as playing against assault necrons for the first time. It still has a number of weaknesses, and given a few more games against that list in particular i suspect it wouldn't be doing nearly so well.
