I have gotten approval for next year to run the Epic Tournament at Cold Wars. HMGS has updated their website with the relevant tournament info. If you plan to attend please let me know ahead of time and what army you will be bringing. Thanks

Epic Armageddon Event
Saturday March 17, 2018.

Games System by GW: Epic Armageddon

Lead GM: Kalpesh Doshi (kalpeshrdoshi@gmail.com)
Maximum Players: 10

Army Size: 3000 pts

Army Selection: All approved individual Army lists (see below links)

Rules: NetEA Tournament Pack (see below links)

Number of Games: 3 games on Saturday

Saturday Registration: 8 am to 9 am (Must have registered for Cold Wars first)

Round One: Sat 9:00am to 11:30am

Round Two: Sat 1:00pm to 3:30pm

Round Three: Sat 5:00 pm to 7:30pm

What to bring: 3 copies of your army list, dice, tape measure, blast markers, objective counters, a good attitude.

Cost: 10$ to cover prizes (paid at time of event), separate from the convention badge.

You only register for the convention. To sign up for the tournament you must let me know after your register for the convention. Send me an email with your name and possible army you are bringing to the email address below.

This year i plan to introduce a variant scenario for one round and another round use Fate Cards. As i get more info i will post relevant attachments and information.

Prize support: over the years I have been able to get miniatures, Gift Certificates and vouchers as prizes. I will post here all vendors who are supporting the Epic Tournament.

hi all,

The cold wars website is up and the tournament info is posted. One change that needs to be made on the cold wars tournament section. We are playing 3000pts not 2500pts. Info on the main post is correct and the cold wars site will be fixed by the HMGS tournament coordinator.

Also i attached two documents to the first thread that will be used at Cold Wars Epic Tournament. One is a alternate scenario we will be using where objectives are set. The other is the use of Fate Cards for one scenario. Fate Cards where used in Epic 40k and i made a bunch for Armageddon.

Please try out both and let me know the good, bad and ugly of them, any recommendations/suggestions for change are encouraged.

How many of y'all would throw in an extra 5-10 bucks? That money would get a pizza lunch and a giant cooler of drinks. This will allow you to hit the vendor hall and or Walley's basement sale thingy during lunch break without rush or giving up lunch. It will also save you from the venues' high priced drinks and food.

Kal: what's your position on testing proposals in the group-grope smorgasbord o'change in the E:A forums (like SM points changes)? Yes/no? Since it looks like others have submitted lists already I can see how that may be a problem...

That thought/traumatic memory did occur to me. After finishing my Manta finally, I'm actually getting around to painting the rest of those clowns. But I think I'll leave all the Tau pleasure for Mattie.

I am pretty flexible on lists. I know one player is brining Sisters of Battle 1.5 version, which i okayed. another newbie is bringing orks, i have not told him about the changes being tested.

What did you have in mind for bringing that needs to be tested.

I was thinking of some SM points changes, namely whirlwind and land raider upgrade cost reductions.

You didn't take anything that changed points, you could test the Destructor autocannons at 2x though.
