Post subject:  EEC 2017 in Copenhagen, September 23-24.

WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE EVENT WILL BE SPONSORED BY:

Gregster's Lab, Small Scale Armies, The Titan Manufactorum, Trolls under the Bridge and Vanguard Miniatures

We’d like to welcome you all Copenhagen, Denmark on the 23rd and 24th of September 2017 for the EEC 2017!

We will continue to build on the format used by previous three tournaments. It will be a team tournament and each team should have 4 members.

We will be able to arrange for up to 8 teams (possibly more if necessary) to come to the event (e.g. 32 players or 16 tables). Games will be arranged between teams so for instance during round 1 all four players in team UK will be matched against the players from team Denmark etc. Within the teams players will be matched according to swiss.

Each country’s community decide on how to choose these teams as they see fit as previously. Teams from different countries will have precedence, however a country may bring more than one team if all 8 positions are not taken by actual countries (a likely event based on attendance previous years).

Five (preferably) rounds will be played over two days. Three on Saturday and two on Sunday. Each round will be 3 hours maximum, in addition after 2h 30 min a call will go out to mark the time and players are asked to not start any new game turns. A schedule for the event can be seen below.

Participating teams:

1. Denmark
2. Germany 1
3. Germany 2
4. UK 1
5. Denmark 2
6. Sweden

Tournament Schedule:

Saturday
09:00 - 09:30 Registration
09:30 - 09:45 Information.
09:45 - 12:45 Game 1
12:45 - 14:00 Lunch
14:00 - 17:00 Game 2
17:15 - 20:15 Game 3

Sunday
09:00 - 09:15 Registration day 2.
09:15 - 12:15 Game 4
13:00 - 16:00 Game 5
16:00 - 17:00 Ending – Prize ceremony.

A player's score in each game will be based on the epic-UK tournament scoring system. A team's score is the total of the four players individual score. Each team will recieve a bonus 20 pts to it’s team score if they get more wins in a round then the opposing team (not counting winning draws).

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and best painting (per popular vote).

Lists used will be the Approved ones in the NetEA tournament pack. ---> http://www.tp.net-armageddon.org/

The different list are divided into race categories. A team may only bring one list from each race. The different races are listed in the link above.

Lists shall be sent to the organizers (thomas at riley.dk) on Sunday September 10 two weeks prior to the event at the latest by the Team Captains. Any additional lists getting approved and added to the NetEA website before that deadline will also be allowed.

How do I get there?

So the date is up! Which is good, real good! Still need to settle on a price, but now people can get planning!

Please give it a read through and fire away if you have any questions and suggestions etc. I shamelessly copied a text sent to me which I found out had been shamelessly copied from the Swedes, but hey if it ain't broke ;D

The venue is quite sizeable so we might organize another tourney to cut cost, hopefully making the tickets a wee bit cheaper but expect somewhere along 200 Danish Kroners, roughly 20-25 quid.

More on this later - and much more!

//Thomas

Sweden will participate with atleast 1 team! And I'm pretty sure we can come there with 2 teams if that is possible.

I think there might be a fight over who goes from the UK.

Any particular reason why you chose 3 rounds over 4 or 5? it's a long way to come to play 3 tournament games....

If there are more than 4 teams, you'd want each team to play at least once, and I'd hope Denmark and Sweden could field 4 between them... ;)

From my personal POV I'd want the chance to play as many games as possible if I'm spending the time and money flying to another country....

You never know, we might be able to pull together a Scotland team - though I suspect we'll need to use the old grandparent rule!

I think it's cut & paste from the schedule last year; I'm sure we can manage 5 rounds over two days if we get to 6+ participating teams.

You're in - there's just the ritual daubing in iron bru and ceremonial deep frying of everything in your fridge ceremony to complete now!

Germany will field a team.

I also think we should play more than 2 + 1 games.

I'm hoping to be able to come, but I agree with Kyuss, when going this far I'd rather play more games.

I realize some people may want to go early on sunday, but perhaps 3 games saturday and 1 on sunday would be possible?

Will do my best to get there. Copenhagen is closer than Stockholm after all. :)

Edit: That rapidly turned out to be impossible. :(

As mentioned, I shamelessly copied last year's ETC post (well my aide de camp did. He has been severely punished) and the short schedule was brought to my attention earlier. From experience, 5 games should be feasible over the course of two days, so that's what we will be aiming for.
