For terrain special rules how about sand dunes/mudflats are impassable for war engines, dangerous for avs fine for infantry with a -1 to hit cover modifier (representing the sand absorbing impact etc)?

If you wanted to make more interesting you could say no unit can triple through them (to represent what a nightmare it is climbing and dunes etc ).

Update:

We now have 14 confirmed attendees including 6 from CLWC and 5 from SLW. As it stands I won't be playing unless we end up with an odd no. on the day (fine by me). Lists in by Saturday please (pm or email me).

I'm ok with dunes along those lines as a special rule.

Best if you make a proper announcement for terrain special rules in the main thread/event pdf.
Pleased that my dunes get their own rules! :)

Should start to tinker my 2k Necron list to be able to make the deadline, hehe

You could try dunes as "marsh" which are 6+ cover save for infantry and count as dangerous for all troop types.

OK then I'll do a formal terrain ruling in the first post by Friday. I'm not planning on special rules for anything other than dunes (because they are a bit special). Feel free to make comments until then.

Oh pretty please can Richard do some sort of summation / mini-reports with the list so i can get some proper feedback on it instead of just theoryhammering??!!
