Put me down as 'possible'.
I am trying to arrange things to make it down there, but have a lot of juggling to do.

Hi Tim,

All paid up ! Can't wait, especially since seeing lots of faces at the UK Expo - last year was a blast !

Not sure which army I'm taking yet - kinda depends if i can twist a friend's arm and he need to borrow one of my armies ! But i have at least one new player coming (Mike who a few met at the Expo at the weekend) and possibly two more...

See you all soon !

Brilliant! Thank you Blip. Looking forward to seeing you up in Exeter again for another round of EE. Strange saying "up in Exeter" as you're down South to me :-)

Hi Ginger. Would be grand if you can make it. Will wait until you confirm before putting your name down on the list.

Couple of questions regarding the terrain for this year :

A question particularly from my friend's Ulani - how are the trenches being played this year? Baring in mind Reedar's "experience" last year... As a suggestion would it be worth ruling that armies are free to move over trenches in their own deployment zone ? you'd a imagine a mechanised force would build in ramps/bridges for their own forces which could be dismantled prior to an attack?

More generally are the tables going to be as dense in terrain as last year ?

Couldn't agree with you more regarding moving through your own trenches. The pure and simple reason why Reedar's poor orks were hindered by their own trenches was that I simply (and stupidly) forgot to remove three sections from either side of the table before the games began....Doh! All of the other tables had plenty of gaps between each trench line section.

Therefore, further to your suggestion I'll make this official for the day:
A defending trench line does not count as dangerous terrain for its own infantry or vehicles (it still offers cover in the usual way - 4+ cover save for trench sections and 3+ cover save for bunkers) . Attacking force vehicles moving through defending trench sections will still count them as dangerous terrain as usual.

Razorwire however will restrict movement and still be dangerous terrain for BOTH sides though.

The tables that were packed with terrain last year were the Forge World and Agri World tables. The Hive world had a good mix of buildings, but I wouldn't say packed with scenery. All the other tables i.e chaos wastes (lava), Ice World, Wasteland (Ork World) etc were VERY open.

This year, same ratio - 2-3 tables with more buildings/scenery (less buiildings on forge world than last year though) and remaining 5 tables will be very sparsley populated with scenery.

Trench rules/deployment are the only changes to scenery rules so thanks for that good idea Blip :)

Incoming.............

For the second year running, I'm running the Exeter Entrenchment 2015 tournament- part of the Epic UK 2015 schedule. Bringing more mayhem, madness and marvellous Epic battles to the South West UK. Comprising of 3x 3000 point games throughout the day (using Epic UK army lists) & Epic Armageddon Grand Tournament rules. Up to 16 players will battle it out over 6x4 tables to claim victory!

Fantastic prizes are up for grabs, courtesy of Exeter Entrenchment Prize Sponsors: Hawk Wargames, Onslaught Miniatures, Dark Realm Miniatures & Microworld Games (additional prizes will also be granted on the day). Prizes will be honoured for: 1st 2nd and 3rd place, Most Sporting player, Best painted army, most ‘Heroic or Stupid” moment of the game and of course last place honours.

Tickets are £15 each, this includes lunch (from local chip shop -The Friar Tuck). The event is taking place at the Whipton Institute Social Club in Exeter. For further details please take a look at the location section on the website.

Each of the 6x4 boards will feature trench warfare over various themed Home Worlds - three of these boards have been uniquely crafted (painstakingly slaved over by me :0) to represent an Ice world, Scorched Earth World and Volcanic Chaos World. The remaining 5 tables will be standard gaming boards themed by various terrain features to represent worlds such as: Agri World, Forge World, and three more (yet to be decided)....

Tournament Schedule

* 09:00 – 09:45 - Register

* 9:45 – 12:15 - Game 1

* 12:15 - 13:15 - Lunch

* 13:15 – 15:45 - Game 2

* 15:45 – 16:00 - Break

* 16:00 - 18:30 - Game 3

* 18:30 - 19:30 - Awards & Beer

Further details as time goes on but tickets are available now :0)

Please note I'm quite busy at the mo (work etc) so won't be able to check the forum regularly as often as I'd like until Mid June. You can drop me a PM or email me (email address is listed when you click on the Paypal Buy it Now link on the ticket site) Ticket site link is listed under my sig. As tickets are bought I'll post the confirmed entrants in the usual way on this thread.

"Flush em out!"
Time to get those barrage templates ready.......

Exactly 30 days to go before the artillery bombardments start and epic troops rush headlong into the wastelands before them...wrestling through the razorwire and storming into heavily defended enemy territory....

Plenty of tickets left and fantastic prizes up for grabs from prize sponsors: Hawk Wargames, Onslaught Miniatures, Dark Realm Miniatures and Microworld Games.

Twitter account @exeterentrench for up to date news closer to the event. Feed will be updated starting next week

Caught up with Jon last night, looks like they'll be four more from the Brizzle neck of the woods heading down for this...
