@EpicUK Forgive me for jumping the gun with this.... hope I'm not speaking out of turn.... looks like the annual EpicUK megabattle is scheduled for Monday 29th December at Slayer Gaming in Mansfield woodhouse I've been busy writing a scenario, however I'm not sure who is available and planning on attending (and with what forces) broadly the day will consist of several large games occuring at the same time, with actions on one table having effects on others, there will be plenty of hidden events and a rough narrative Could those planning to attend please reply in the thread/shoot me a PM with a list of what armies and how many points they have available, I'm thinking broadly imperial vs chaos, but there may be a bit of room for others if required.... Just a quick note to thank dptdexys, kev101, Tiny-Tim, MikeT, Consul Avenging Angel and Mark P for a very enjoyable afternoon, I hope you guys enjoyed playing the scenario as much as I did dreaming it up! I'm mildly hypothermic (damn you car for having no heating!!) And I'm off out playing warmaster tomorrow but after that I'll share pics and a report as well as details of the scenario if others want to try it out! Off to drink a huge mug of hot chocolate now.... |

okay back from warmastering at warhammer world, time to write this sucker up! forces used - 18k of dark angels, 3x4k chaos forces (iron warriors, death guard, thousand sons) the table is three 6x4 tables in an L-shape, the dark angels deploy ground units at the ends of the L, upto 60cm on, the dark angels get a free strike cruiser each, all barrages must be plotted at the start of the game, but drop pods are done one turn in advance the ref places 6 bunker objectives, 4 on the centre table and one on each end table, in the chaos half but out of the deployment zone (this may need changing) these two bunkers need to be engaged and their contents destroyed or the third table is considered to be shielded, while the table is shielded no orbital barrages will hit, planes cannot land or ground attack (but may fly over as normal) and any troops podding in must take a dangerous terrain test with no re-rolls permitted each bunker has a hydra turret which cannot be targeted or suppressed and the contents are hidden and cannot be targeted until the bunker is engaged, to win the dark angels must engage all six bunkers and eliminate the contents, any other result is a loss.... when a bunker is engaged, move the attackers into range, the contents (decided by the ref) are then revealed and placed within 10cm of the bunker, in a position to countercharge The chaos players have an unlimited daemon pool, until both objective-sorcerers are killed, at which point they cannot summon more daemons On the day, the dark angels started out strongly with teleporting terminators eliminating the shield generators right away.... I got pretty involved in reffing and answering the inevitable rules questions so didn't take regular pictures.... here's a series of pics with captions: Interrogator Chaplain Markus deploys his ground assets:  M'T'homm'asss, acolyte of the nine deploys his troops:  D'vid the undefeated leads his death guard out in defence:  Masters Timon and Bothus deploy their troops:  Brutus the siegelord readies himself for the carnage:  Warsmith SS'ann'daars prepares to destroy the usurpers:  Thousand sons withdraw:  Deathwing terminators bounce off the plaguehound and the thunderhawk explodes....  death guard terminators teleport into the midst of the dark angels advance:  thousand sons terminators teleport in to protect the bunkers:  more deathwing teleport in to prep and support:  yet MORE teleport in to engage the obliterators:  the obliterators overwatch claims some deathwing and they win the assault, yet are broken:  the death guard have them surrounded from the inside....  thousand sons are repelled by tactical marines (for shame!)  Brutus shows off his shiny dreadnought-firing cannon  Death guard make a mess of the dark angels advance:  Brutus waves as the dark angels speed past him....  Dark angels load up for the final assault:  Brutus, mightiest of the siegelord titans, conqueror of a thousand worlds, loses a fight against some space marine scouts   Thousand sons make themselves look BIG  dudes in the wrong place at the wrong time when the battle barge dropped its pie-plates o'doom  4 tactical formations swarm the penultimate objective and kill the sorcerer inside  Dark angels take down the fallen masterminding the whole operation:
