We should have details for this next week, the venue will almost certainly be Birmingham on 30th-31st May |

I am super excited to come to this, however with sprog #2 arriving at the end of January, I'll be unlikely to attend many (any?) Events prior so will have no tourney record.... is this going to limit my chances of getting a place? |

I'd certainly hope the UK can provide at least 2 teams! Looking forward to more information. I just hope I won't have an exam between the 1st and 3rd of June, which unfortunatly is a very real possibility... |

I'd like to attend. Happy to make up numbers on a mixed international team (as im assuming any full uk teams will fill quickly with ranked uk tournament players). |

is there going to be a maximum number of participants? Because I think UK, with the strong tourney scene, will easily be able to field more than 1 team. |

There will be a cap on numbers as the event is likely to be held at a convention style event in the UK (Games Expo) if I'm reading the proposed dates correctly. |

Exact format is still to be confirmed, if we continue with teams of 4 then we have space for 8 teams, my initial thoughts were to ring fence 6 of those spots for nations - UK, Germany, Norway, Sweden etc, then allow the other 2 teams to be made up by whoever signs up be it a mixed team, Germany 2, UK 2 etc |

I'll say one thing that has bugged the WM/H event for the last two years is having teams of even numbers. If the 2015 event was to be a team score based on the rounds results then odd numbers for teams is better, as it will give less chance or teams drawing, if that makes sense? |

Teams of 3 would make it easier for the smaller nations to form teams, so as a potential captain for a small nation I approve of 3 man teams. 5 man teams would likely leave only a mixed team as an option for me again. Other than that I don't really think draws are a big problem. We're going to use the EUK scores anyway, so draws will be unlikely. (And with the Berlin rules draws are extremely likely to be decided by the first tiebreaker, goals.) In the unfortunately likely case that there will not be 6 different nations signing up, extra UK teams to make up numbers shouldn't be hard to form with your relatively large local player base? (It's easier to join on a short term notice when you don't need a hotel. The Norfingers this year needed 2 plane tickets and 1 hotel reservation, which is a lot easier to organize on a short notice than travel and accomodation for a full team.) |

I explain what I mean by draws in this case. Most team events I've been part of look at the result of each player in a team each round, and the round is won by the team that has the most wins from those games. So in a 3 man team if 2 players from SWE beat their CAN opponents, with one losing, then SWE would win that round. The normal GT tournament score doesn't matter, it's getting more Wins each round than the team you are up against. |

If there's the concern about getting a full set of 6 nations turning up why not do as proposed in one of the other EEC threads and allow US/Canadian/Australian/Etc. teams to attend? With teams of 3 you could do 10 teams, or 11 if you can get 33 people in the venue rather than the 32 8x4 allows. |

A disadvantage with teams with an odd number of players is that your require an even number of teams to avoid byes (something I'd really, really like to avoid when I'm travelling abroad to play). The UK can probably handle having a "stand-by team", but it will be harder for future organizers. |

Well just because one nation ran the event one way in year two doesn't mean the next nation needs to follow suit and run the same event in year 3? |

Whether the number of players is even or odd is only relevant, if the organisers allow partial team matching - i.e. evening out the number of games against each team. If they go by the swiss system and apply it to teams, the number of teams has to be even and the team size is of no relevance. |
