Next year the EEC will be in England, probably in Birmingham or maybe London.

I thought it would be a good idea to codify how we select the next host of the EEC. This year the brits had a proposal ready when we met in Berlin, and I think that is a good template for naming a host - each year at the EEC possible hosts bring a proposal to the tournament, and then the decision is made there.

The benefits of that is that 1) we can have the discussion face to face and 2) the decision is made by those who have already commited to travelling to an EEC tournament.

The downside is that the decision has to be made in a weekend and that those who are not attending won't necessarily be heard, but as long as there is some discussion before the tournament I think the pros outweigh the cons.

If we can settle on a procedure for this early it will give 2016 hosts better time to prepare their bids.

I agree Hena, it would be best for various proposals to be raised on this forum with the decision being made at the latest EEC event by those who attended.

I agree on that, just hold a vote at the EEC if theres multiple organizers stepping up.

That being said i know we can arrange a kick ass EEC in Sweden in 2016! ;-)

I'm not involved in the decision where to hold in the UK. If it happens I would prefer Birmingham as I have not been to a tourny at that venue yet. However, if I was coming from Europe (or even across the pond) I would probably prefer London as there is more to see and do before and after the tourny.

Brum does have the advantage of being cheaper and having the venue close to the airport though - it's also the UK Games Expo, so there's plenty to do when you're not playing, like buying new boardgames :D

True. I suppose it is less than an hour on the train from London should people want to combine the event with a holiday also. Warwick Castle/Stratford-Upon Avon etc also local as well.
