I have just been to the venue and settled up on the bills.
I am sorting out the catering with them.
I have just drawn up the floor plans.
I am about to order some Blaster-Bob bracelets (not everyone wants ink stamps on their hand, but a pretty bracelet, oooh yes!)
I have updated the site.
I will be updating it further as things warrant.
However it is pretty much as it will be.
So what is
Blast-Tastic! again?
It is a sci-fi themed wargames show.
All the traders there sell sci-fi, many of the traders are very big in the world of sci-fi, even the 6mm ones!
All the games are sci-fi too.
It is the kind of show that as a sci-fi gamer I would want to go to myself.
It is funded/organised/promoted and all done by me.
As we know, most shows are done by clubs with many members and a much bigger budget.
So yes, this show will be small compared to most shows.
It is not Salute, or Triples or Colours, or even Crusade.
It will be a little rough around the edges.
It is as big as I can manage on my own.
But it will be a show from the
heart.
Now, if the show is well attended and people have fun and the traders do ok, then maybe, just maybe with a bit of luck it will be back next year.
Maybe if it does really well it will be back at a bigger venue, with even more sci-fi goodness.
Of course it is two-way street.
I really want this to work, I think the idea is great and we have some very popular traders coming a long way to help make the show work.
I am doing my bit, the gamers are doing their bit, and the traders are doing their bit.
