Epic UK will again be holding our annual Xmas big game on December 30th in Mansfield, we will be playing a large multi-player scenario game along the lines of 'A bridge too far' http://epic-uk.co.uk/wp/batreps/ Further details on exactly what when we see who is coming. Definitely coming, got my mum booked to babysit and everything.... will I be able to use my guard or should I get frenziedly painting orks or marines (or eldar?) |

thanks to Steve54, Mephiston, Dptdexys, Kev101, MikeT, Enri, PitFiend and Mark P for an awesome game today! I reckon 3 more turns and we might have edged it, but it was by no means set in stone.... Hopefully pics and report will follow in the next few days

I'll echo Simon and say thanks to all the players who made it a great game yesterday+Maunsfeld for hosting it Report+photos to follow but highlights included - Erin forgetting his deathwind on an all drop army - Mephistons Daemon Prince surviving 8 MW hits and single handedly holding onto that table - until dieing when he failed a dangerous terrain check - manticores making use of their range to pound the Chaos forces 2 tables away - dptdexys broken Landing craft surviving 5 turns grounded by the bulk of the chaos army - but acting as great cover for them by blocking the LoS for 3 Russ companies - Miket failing the activation roll on the lead Russ company leaving them stationary on the road blocking it for the entire IG force |

I particularly liked guard supreme commander mark deathstriking a single obliterator stand "just to be on the safe side" Erin forgetting his deathwind on an all drop army The conversation went something like this: Mike: "ooo seven marine formations, how much damage did the deathwinds do?" Erin: "Oh yeah, I er... forgot about those" * cue collective imperial facepalm*

Finally got round to digging photos off of my phone.. The table in all its glory - by this point all of the action had moved to table 3  A veritable horde of tanks - not sure if these guys ever got to see any action  Looking down on table 3 - it's about to get messy

Thanks for the pics Erin, IIRC the tanks did get to see some small action early on table 1...... Which probably cost us dearly, we didn't need that much armour on table 1..... The 4 arty formations supported by the planes and maybe a single tank company would have been enough with hindsight, then we could have log-jammed ourselves further by bringing on even more stuff to table three
