Sweet Mullet!

Got my packet downloaded and it looks fun! I'm totally there for the big game. Can't wait to see everyone again from last year and hopefully a bunch of new faces this year. I'm going to be competing in the Flames of War Early Tournament, but it's supposed to be over by 5pm and then I'll be ready to blow some SHT up!

As for forces, I can bring tons of Imperial but unfortunately nothing to offer for Orks. I do have about 7k-8k of Eldar if that'll help.

PLEASE don't take this a criticism, but I was under the impression this was supposed to be a "fun" game not a tournament. Call me blonde...

You are blonde! Just kidding.

The first on the list is the 'Narrative' game I'm hosting on Friday. The 2nd game is on Saturday (hosted by Anton), and is the 3000tournament. I just put a link to both on the Adepticon sight to show that EPIC IS MAKING A COMEBACK! Wooo Hoo! Bring your wives, bring your friends. Hell, bring your friends wives, and we'll introduce new players how to play!

Looking forward to seeing everyone there! And if folks don't have armies, tell them to come. I'll bring 2 spare 3000 point groups! Should be a all around fun time.

Green skins! Orks are da best. 3000 green and 3000 guard in case someone need an army. The terrain I will have to mail out earlier to Illinois since I'll be flying in. The dropships and defense lasers need to be finished by march.

What are your plans to mail the terrain? Do you have anyone accepting the mail for you before you get into town? I live in STL, so I'll be driving in, but I've got lots of terrain I can bring to help out if it's needed.

Very excited for this. I'll be bringing Orks and IG, and maybe pick randomly, although I'm leaning towards the Orkseses.

STL is short for 'Saint Louis' I think. Hm, I'll have to double check, but I think from San Diego the mailing zone is the same for Chicago. my plan was to mail it to the hotel and just have them hold it until the Con, or have the Con coordinator hold it. Worst case scenario, I check it with baggage on the plane. Big benefit for 6mm miniatures is they travel much better in luggage than 28mm ones.

thank you for the offer, As we get closer, I'll firm up the plan on how to get terrain out there.

Well I have you to thank! You did a great job planning last year's tournament, and saved it from failure. There was no tournament in 2010 folks. None. Sad. Luckily, in 2011, the tournament event went so well at Adepticon, you inspired me to give back and have a game you can play in instead of be stuck judging!

I hope everyone has fun, and we can keep it going in 2012 and beyond! Waaaaagh!

So I will be picking up a Space Marine army for the 3000pt Event, but I still want to be able to play my Nids. Can I use them in this event?

I'm trying to balance fun for all at the event, so here are the pros and cons I see.

Pro's: this is a fun event, and if your opponent doesn't have a problem, I don't see a problem.
Con: we might be getting new players, and Tyranids aren't a 'teaching friendly' army to play.
Con: this doesn't really play into the whole 2nd war for Armageddon story line too well.

If you have your heart set on it, talk to me by PM, but it would be much better if you were to play your marines... or you could just proxy your 'nids as Orks?
