Just wanted to throw the idea of all online tournament out there. Has it been tried? Any one know? Cus not all of us live in the UK and have access to major clubs and what not. So I was thinking of doing one online (vassal) . All the standard rules and that would apply - one list, aproved lists, NetEpic, la lala la bla-bla... all that. would any one be intrested? |

I could probably participate in such an event, if it was scheduled well ahead of time. EDIT: A tourney might not be the best format though, an Epic Games Day with a fairly strict schedule: games starting on the hour, every hour for 8-12 hrs on a given date might be possible if we all make a concerted effort to participate. |

If you can come up with a better die rolling system I'd be in it. |

Off the top of my head I think it would be maybe two shorter days instead of one long one, but who knows. While having all the games at the same time would be cool, I think logisticly would be impossible. With that whole time zone thing i think we would be hard pressed. I think in reality it would be some thing like, 1. set up matchs ie, this person VS that person... 2. those two then have X amount of time to play a game at the end of witch they send in who won, ectc... 3. after the first X amount of time is over/ all games finished, the next matches are posted. 4. continue as above till a set amount of games have been played (total amount set before hand) 5. Add up all results and post em. 6. ![]() 7. Profit! I think some thing to the fact of one - two games a day would be resonable for most people to complete. with 2 sets of two, over two days or so. with winners vs'ing winners and so on. This is just what I could come up with off the top of my head so, but if you got ANY idea's please say so. |

Sounds like a great idea. I'd get 4 people together to test it out and then you could go on a grander scale |

This could be a chance to test my 3d vassal type thing. |

How's that going, Zombo? Is there an ETA for it? |

I'd be interested. As vassal can be logged you can require that logs of each turn are supplied. |

I'd be up for that, though I think being able to spread the games out over a week or so might be easier. Speaking for myself, I only have a few limited time slots (evenings EST usually), so it would be hard to keep to a tight daily schedule. How about more of a campaign type approach? Or would that be too much effort to keep track of? I agree with Dobbsy about the die rolling too, Vassal completely sucks for that, to the point where you can guess when you'll get a 1 or 6 (usually it goes, 1,1,1,1,1,6!). Perhaps Zombo's program would be better? |

I didn't realize Zombo's program was finished/ready for testing... but ya, if its up for some test spins i would be up for trying it out a few games. but that's up to him. |

This sounds pretty cool, if zombocom's program is up to the challenge. ![]() |

One thing I was thinking to make this thing better. Instead of just using what every army list you wanted, you make lists on what you actualy have(in terms of models), and throw up a pic of the 2000 or 3000 point force. that way we could do a painting score thing.....? meh?be? dose his program have a built in dice roller or do we need to find a side program? Also for all those intrested, if you could PM me with your name(board names pref), army you would use(assuming above rules) and time zone. This thing isnt going to happen tommorw, but we might as well get some thing going. |
