Well, the Tournament has been run and won.
First up a
BIG thanks to Mark, Jason, Olly, Chris, Georg and Drew. You blokes are
fantastic and you helped make the tourney a dream to organise.
The
Games Won points system was as follows (these points
contributed to the Grand Champion award):
25pts for a win (whether by Victory Goals or by points)
15pts for a draw
5pts for a loss
1st round games:Mark (Saim-Hann) Vs Georg (Biel-Tan). 3:1 win to Georg
Drew (Steel Legion) vs Jason (Biel-Tan). Victory point win to Drew.
Olly (Titans) vs Chris (Codex Marines). 2:0 win to Chris.
2nd round games:Drew vs Chris. Victory point win to Chris.
Mark vs Olly. 4:0 win to Olly.
Jason vs Georg. 3:0 win to Jason.
3rd round games:Chris vs Jason. 2:0 win to Jason.
Georg vs Olly. 2:1 win to Georg.
Drew vs Mark. Victory points win to Drew.
The
Best General Award was based purely on Victory Goals scored during the 3 games.

Mark - 1
The tied scores were then resolved by going to games won. This still left Georg and Jason on a tie so paint scores were then used to pick a Best General.
That gave
Georg the win for
Best General.
Best Painted was judged by the entrants.
Each entrant (plus a guest judge) picked their 3 favourite armies and gave them scores. 5pts for the top ranked army, 3pts for the 2nd favourite and 1pt for their 3rd choice.
This gave the following scores:
Chris - 5
Olly - 21
Georg - 20
Jason - 0
Drew - 0
Mark - 17
Best Painted went to
Olly by 1 point.
Grand Champion was worked out by adding the points for games won, Victory Goals scored and a modified score for painting (basically, each players paint score was divided by 3 {half the number of players} rounded to the nearest whole number, to give a score out of 10). I wanted the Best General and Best Painted scores to help divide players that ended up on the same number of wins.
Chris - 55pts for Games Won - 2pts for Generalship - 2pts for Paint = 59pts
Olly - 35pts for Games Won - 5pts for Generalship - 7pts for Paint = 47pts
Georg - 55pts for Games Won - 5pts for Generalship - 7 pts for Paint = 67pts
Jason - 55pts for Games Won - 5pts for Generalship - 0pts for Paint = 60pts
Drew - 55pts for games Won - 0pts for Generalship - 0pts for Paint = 55pts
Mark - 15pts for Games Won - 1pt for Generalship - 6pts for Paint = 22pts
Grand Champion went to Georg and his Biel-Tan Eldar.The Curse of Chaos Award was presented to the player that had the worst luck on the day.
It was a fairly easy pick as Jason's Eldar and failed something like 15 activation rolls in his first 2 games (maybe many more, I lost count
ops: ).
The Blessing of the Emperor Award was presented for Good fortune on the day. Chris made some important armour saves (and possibly some other important rolls - Chris? ) that enabled him to win his second game against Drew.
