I figured I'd post this here to show how our group in chicagoland is getting bigger. The post was originally made on Adeptus Windy City and was made in language to make it understandable to those players of the larger mini game.
On June 5th the Specialist Games Club will be playing the largest game of the Warhammer 40,000 universe ever done in the United States: Edit (That we know of
). It will not be a game of 40k. It will not be a game of Apocalypse. Those games could never do a game of this scale.
It will be of Epic Armageddon. Edit: The forces of Commissar Ditka vs the New Waaaagh! Greenskins.
Why is it the largest? Most of the Ultramarines Chapter and Bloodangels chapter will be present for the game. Elements of 6 or more Imperial Guard regiments will be fighting. Warlord Shaggrudd Dethblasta will have his warhorde which includes gargants, great gargants and a mega gargant. There will be elements of a titan legion fighting as well. There will be hordes of troops on both sides for the defense of the Imperium or the glory of battle.
But it doesn't end there. Space craft will be in orbit making orbital bombardments. There will be ork Teleporta attacks of a scale not seen before by the Imperium. It will be a desperate battle for both sides. No one will know the outcome.
It is a battle you will want to see whether you play Epic or not. The game will have about 40,000 to 45,000 points of miniature in play and all of them will be fully assembled and painted.
