not a tournament per se...

For all those in Victoria Australia

Location: South Eastern Suburbs (Endeavour Hills)
Date: Every 2nd Thursday
Time: 7.30pm till late

In a bid to get the community 'intermingled' with regards to comraderie and games, (yes, to get to know each other more than just at tournaments), I am opening my house (garage) every 2nd Thursday for Epic Games (starting this Thursday). At present I can hold 3 tables in the garage, and if I buy another piece of wood, it can be 4 tables - need more terrain however. If I wanted to, I could possibly push out 5 tables in the garage that I have.

We regularly have 2 tables set up, and on occasion, 3. I and others are always eager to get more games against a range of opponents and we can usually field just about any army that there are miniatures for (advance notice would be nice however).

I supply the Tea and Coffee, and sometimes Coke (depends on the funds I have). Other stuff is BYO. Otherwise the night is Free other than the petrol used to get there. As it is in a Garage, on colder nights, it is preferrable that you bring some warmer clothing.

So if interested in getting more games or meeting different opponents, feel free to contact me on:

mydamnation@gmail.com

It would be great to get the Epic community going again in Melbourne

Cheers....    :D

I see Victorians posting yet not to this thread.

What does a guy have to do to get the different groups talking to each other?   :(

Did I mention that I also supply the sugar for the tea and coffee?

Well Fortis came and we had 3 games.

1. Black Crusade (LeanonRuss) defeated Marines (Drew) convincingly - Banelord ripped the Warlord apart - awesome engagement

2. Orks (Trog) decimated the Lost and the Damned (Frogbear)

3. Tied game between Feral Orks (Blish) and Marines (Fortis), yet as Fortis came from Croydon, I awarded him the win - sorry Blish

Great night and alot of discussions. Hope to keep it regular.

Cheers....

I took a ban over on WAU so thought I'd post here.

Not going to make it for games tomorrow. Someone else will have to beat Pete for me.

Ok

Well another fun-filled night at the lair of the Frogbear. We had JetBiker from WargamerAU show up just to hang out which was awesome. That is the 2nd person in two weeks that has come down to start getting more games for the future. Slowly the group is building and I am going to have to look at accomodating a 4th table if it continues.

The following games were played tonight:

1. Black Legion (Trog)  defeat   Scions of Iron (Blish)

2. Apocrypha of Skaros (Drew)  defeat   Yme'Loc - Eldar (Morgan)

3. Necrons (Frogbear)   annihalate    Marines (LeanonRuss)  - Mosc I will open a thread about this seperately

Cheers.....   :D

2. Apocrypha of Skaros (Drew)  defeat   Yme'Loc - Eldar (Morgan)

What a cluster****.

Game started so promising when my Scorpion Engines Company shot at a Dreadnought Formation. 4 hits, 4 dead. Nothing worked right after that.

An assault with the Fire Dragons (Aut+Ex) went pear shaped when 6 FF4+MW resulted in no hits.
Another assault on my Engines got one hit, Crit, second died on hackdown. Two perfectly primed assaults failed because my Autarch couldn't get his head out of his culet. And a Swords Company was almost wiped out by a Whirlwind Squad (that should have been victim to the second primed assault).

Coupled with the 8 or 9 significant tactical errors, it was a game to forget. I forgot/relearnt the golden rule. "Don't be a f'n idiot.". Nothing was really learnt, because the mistakes were obvious as soon as I made them, and the good decisions I did make, were all for naught. My opponent played a good game, I didn't, and Lady Luck kicked me inna nutz.

who/ what are the Apocrypha of Skaros?

Eldar aren't exactly forgiving of being an f'in idiot Morgan, so you have my comiserations :) Nothing like a game against TRC's SM lander army of doom, which wiped out 1/2 my army in the 1st activation of the 1st turn. That game didn't last long...

Resumed a night of Epic games last night after a small break from gaming.

Here is what was played:

- Red Corsairs (Morgan) deafeat Sam Hain (Drew) : 5 - 1 (All vs BTS)
- Squats (Frogbear) defeat Blood Angels (Trog) : 2 - 1 (DTF + BTS vs DTF)

Next fortnight is Warmaster so there is another break before the next updated results (unless I can arrange something inbetween)

This game had so much rampant luck (and lack thereof) on both sides, that it was almost farcical.

Highlights/Lowlights
- Chaos Bike Formation + Thunderhawk assault a Falcon formation. Opponent rolls first, 3 hits, all saved. Chaos rolls 10x4+. 10 hits. Wiped out. Opponent cries.
- Jetbikes wSpears/Jetbikes supporting assault Terminator+DP BTS. 22 Bikes/Wild Riders/Shining Spears. 5 hits. First Term survives. The rest (inc DP) die. I cry.
- Bike Squad threatening opponent's BTS for Turn 3. Attacked by Vampire Raiders. 3 normal hits, only Lord left. 3 Macro hits. All saved. Invulnerable Save FTW! Lord rallied, and though opponent was able to break it next turn, that meant not being able to take out the only other squad in a position to capture it.

I've had games where good luck favours, or bad luck haunts, a player. But never both to that extreme, to both players, in the one game.
