Ok. We're just under 2 months away from Adepticon now so here's another plug for my two events. Adepticon itself is March 26-28 this year with a basic badge cost of $30 for the weekend which still should get you a swag bag (there is a hard limit of 1000 swag bags this year)
Adepticon for those who don't know is in Lombard, Illinois at the Westin Lombard. This is literally about 2 blocks from the Chicago Battle Bunker. This one of the largest now formerly GW specific conventions out there. I say formerly because we've added Battletech, Flames of War and Privateer Press stuff to the convention.
First off, Battlefleet Gothic:
Friday 9am-5pm
1500 points: Bring at least one captial ship (no all escort swarms please)
3 rounds.
Main Rulebook, Armada, fleets on the GW website, FW Tau (forgeworld website) are the fleets. 2011 we may start adding fan made stuff if there's no more GW support.
Epic Bring and Battle
Friday 5pm-10pm officially. I have a feeling we may be able to let you guys play later
2000 point minimums, you can play bigger if your opponent wants.
Legal Armies: GW website, Stuff from here with only a couple exceptions.
Exception 1: Adepticon has a hard rules change limit of February 1, 2010 so any lists that get revised after that will have to go with whatever version comes out before that. WFB Beastmen players are stuck with the old book because the new one comes out on Feb 7.
Exception 2: Unless your opponent specifically allows it, please go with the GW versions of stuff that has been revised by the guys here (Codex Marines, and Chaos for example.) Not everyone comes here all the time so people will probably have designed lists around the officially releasted stuff.
If you're coming out to Adepticon PLEASE sign up for the epic. This year we were demoted from full tournament status because of lack of participation for the last couple years. Last year we had 8 people sign up and only 4 showed. It also didn't help that the tournament was cunning at the same time as the BFG (darn TO refusing to switch the day of the thing then bailing a month before the con...)
