Hello boys and girls,
Steve Gullick wins at Open War! Steve won (Space Marines) all three of his games at Open War to win by a margin 12.5 points, that's the same as the second place player, playing another game and getting a draw! A big well done has to go to 2nd place Mark Preston (Black Legion) and 3rd place Mark Williams (Eldar) ... oh look, three different armies taking the top three slots, I don't know how we do it.
I would also like to say a big thank you, to our three new players, for seeing what this tournament lark is all about. Darren Reeks came 10th with Orks, Marcus Hawkesford came 15th with Space Marines and Samuel Roberts came 17th with Orks. I hope you all had an ace time and that hopefully we will see you at more events in the future.
Speaking of more events...

Now why is the EPIC UK 2009 Grand Tournament an event not to miss? Not only is it excellent value, fun and an enjoyable event in a relaxed atmosphere, but its the final event of the 2009 Championship.

Yes this year it looks like a four horse race with Steve Gullick, Joe Jephson, David Thomas and Mark Hargrave all competing to grab the title ... but before you start betting oh who will lift the shield here is EPIC UK's inside info on the four players....
Steve Gullick - 'The Outsider' - After just winning Open War Steve will be on a high, with a sniff of the Championship Steve will be playing his best to take the trophy off his 'Yorkshire mate' David Thomas. However Steve is about 10 points behind the leader so it's a steep mountain to climb.
Joe Jephson - 'The sprinter' - Joe was mid table until he sprinted to the top late in the season with back-to-back wins. It's seems every event he has entered in the 2nd half of the 2009 championship he's won... and he's going to have to do the same here. Being 6 points behind the leader Joe will have to take some risks to take the championship... but is Joe a risk taker???
David Thomas - 'The Veteran' - Coming off two bad tournament results is he having a bad streak at the moment? David will certainly be out to show the EPIC community he isn't and being the 2008 Champion he certainly has the experience to win the championship for a second year running.
Mark Hargrave - 'The Leader' - Mark's lead has been hit this weekend, but he still has a lead. Mark has a good range of armies at his disposal but sometimes that has been his downfall. Will Mark be able to keep his composure to lift the title ... will the lack of
experience affect him?
We will all have to wait until the 28th November to find out. I don't know how we are all going to wait that long; here at EPIC UK towers we are all on the edge of our seats, discussing with colleges who we think will win and generally trying to find an insight to what will happen ... it's been hard to think of anything else.
Well that's it from EPIC UK towers ... Toodle Pip!
