Hi Guys,

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this.  Can a mod move if need be? Ta.

I'm painting up a pair of Battlefortresses to use at the tourney (1 Gibletgrinda and 1 Skullhamma) and it's just dawned on me that in the rule book, these are technically classified as Battlewagons.

Will this be an issue? Or will I have to regig things?

Cheers

Reedar

That will be no problem at all - everybody uses those models as fortresses. See you there

Phew!

Thought I was gonna have to change the list and the already tight painting schedule for a moment then!

Cheers Steve

That "ruling" in the original rulebook is the oddest thing in there... it's *obvious* that they should be some kind of "'Fortresses" and it baffles me that they assigned them as "Battlewagons".

Glad most people have seen past that and use 'em as "Big Uns".

Ditto - I've often wondered what their thought process was at the time.  They obviously knew this would raise questions; hence the 'Yes, really!' comment against them.

Never could find any design notes about it though...

Probably the Marketing Department... since people probably had a lot of the old models... and GW wanted people to buy the *new* ones!  *laugh*

Anythingyou see in a GW product that doesn't make sense: Marketing Department.

No you’ll be fine. I suspect the majority of people actually use them as Battlefortresses, but any time you’re using something unusual as something then so long as you point it out to your opponent at the start its fine. People have used entire armies of non-standard models at tournaments before e.g. a Squat army counting as an Imperial Guard army.

Personally I do actually those models as the rulebook suggested battlewagons, as I quite like my orks to have a variety of different sized vehicles and with the older models being a little small scale I like using larger ones too so the average looks like it could feasibly hold the amount of orks they do. I do still have 10-12 of the current and FW sort as well though too (I really have way too many ork vehicles, must get round to downsizing).
