What an Update I have for you this time; so much has gone on that I have had to split it into the below sections:

1. WPS Club Challenge results
2. EPIC UK Championship
3. EPIC UK Space Marine Battle report
4. Up and Coming events

1. MARK HARGRAVES WINS IN LIVERPOOL - Yes Mark has been threatening a win in EPIC for nearly a year now and, at the WPS Club Challenge, he's done it with Imperial Guard ... well-done to him. Matthew Otter came 2nd with Space Marines and Nathan Hoole came 3rd with Black Legion (so three different races locking out the top). Most sporting was a tie between Kevin Bott and Joe Jephison (with Kevin winning the roll-off) and Chris Webb won best painted for a superb Ork army. All-in-all everyone had a fantastic time and I will be attending the next WPS Club Challenge. All results will be posted on the WPS website at a later date: http://www.the-wps.com/index.php

2. EPIC UK CHAMPIONSHIP - (ROUND 3 OF 8) I was hoping to get a run down off all the results for the Club Challenge at the tournament, alas it was not meant to be. However looking at the current standings shows that it's very close. With Dave Thomas unable to make the Club Challenge it looks like Tim Hunt and Mark Hargrave have over taken him and all three are close to each other on points. Nathan Hoole would have pushed himself further up the table and Matthew Otter enters the Championship at last. Only 5 rounds left
to go and it's anyone's championship. The current championship standings can be viewed here: http://www.epic-uk.co.uk/ukepicachampionship/index.php

3. EPIC UK BATTLE REPORT - To celebrate the release of the new EPIC UK Space Marine army book EPIC UK decided to produce a battle report. Please follow this link http://www.epic-uk.co.uk/batrep/batrep.shtml to EPIC UK's website where you will be able to read about this battle and see how the new Space Marine army deals with the Chaos forces. EPIC UK will be producing more and more battle reports so, if you're interested, keep an eye on this page.

4. UP AND COMING EVENTS - A whole host of events coming up during the summer months?

LONDON - 27TH / 28TH JUNE 2009 - The best 'new event' for 2008 is back for 2009. London, a two day tournament held in the centre of London (5 minute walk from St Pancras International train station). Tickets are only £20 but you have to be quick; places are running out. All the information you need can be found on this link:]http://www.tacticalwargames.net/forums....st=0

BRITCON - 14TH / 16TH AUGUST 2009 - The crown in EPIC events. 4000pts EPIC tournament at Britcon! 14th until the 16th August. You can download an entry form from here: http://www.bhgs.co.uk/

You get:

6x 4,000pt games!
On campus event with accommodation
A student bar that stays open stupidly late (oh and then if you want to stay out any later, your in the middle of Manchester City)
The overnight leader - curse of the yellow shirt!
Oh and not forgetting the legendary pub quiz

Right I suppose you would like to know the cost. Well for a complete price list please check http://www.bhgs.co.uk/

From speaking to a lot of players this event could have a big turn out of EPIC players so don't miss out. Remember, just like the WPS Club Challenge, you're fighting for tournament tickets with other game systems, so get your entry in as quick as you can!

*****BRAND NEW EVENT FOR 2009!*****

As Games Workshop will not be running 'Call to Arms' this year EPIC UK has stepped up to the challenge (yet again) and organised another tournament; yes indeedy!

INTO THE BREACH - 12TH / 13TH SEPTEMBER
Location: Wakefield
Points: 3,000

Further information to follow later (however you can always view EPIC UK's calendar at www.epic-uk.co.uk ) Tickets will be around £15.00 for the event however they will not be on sale until around mid June; this is just a head's up so you can keep the weekend of the 12th and 13th September free!

Well that's it from us. Hopefully see you lot next at some of the above events.

Thank you

You have to be double quick; firstly places are running out and secondly, the tournament organiser needs to know accommodation numbers quickly so he can block book the rooms.

According to Gavin's latest email, I think he can no longer book University dorm places (not unless you want to stay in London for three days anyway)?
