I'm not making any promises, but should I have the time to organize one, how many people would be interested in attending a tournament in Connecticut? Date-wise, I'm thinking late spring/early summer, with an entrance fee of around $10. It would most likely be held at the hobby store where Dave and I usually meet, called Time Machine in Manchester, CT.

Time Machine

The game room has a capacity for (correct me if I'm wrong, Dave) 6 or 7 games, so 12 - 14 players. For those of you that would travel from afar, there are a couple of hotels within about 15 minutes of Time Machine, which is five to ten minutes from the nearest highway.

7 tables would be packed but doable I would think.  If we get a good response to this I'll help with the organization.

I figured you would help, but I didn't want to assume.

I am game.  ePilgrim shouldn't bother to post.  I'll beat him into submission until he shows.  So that is two more for a total of 4.

I'll email Suvarov and some other folks who might make it.  Will get back to you.

FYI I emailed most of the previous tournament folks and a couple others who didn't have a chance to show. ?I also think I can get one or two more from the PA area to come up.

UPDATE: I got an email from Justin (who played Imperial Guard at the last tournament).  Not only is he interested but he knows this game shop and seen two peculiar gentlement playing Epic there on occasion...

DS, how about your nephew or that guy from Groton?

I can see if Mordek and the guys on the North shore might be interested too.

I'm surprised he hasn't stopped by to play more often then, is he local?

Here is his email.  It explains why...

Actually I game at the Time Machine a few times a month and actuallysaw some people playing Epic. I usually play Historical and have not played Epic since the last tournamant. There are just so many things I am interested in only have time to play only a few of them. Keep me in contact when there is a final decision on when it will actually be. Thanks, Justin

Nice guy - calm player.  He took out my Warlock Titan on the first activation of our game (freakin' Shadowswords!!) but I brutalized him with some combined assaults later on.  The end result was I beat him 2-1, and it was a narrow win at that.  Suffice to say he's a really good player considering he plays once every two years!  Justin would be an excellent participant at the tournament.

If it's who I think, he lives in/near Middletown.

Mosc, could you PM me his email address? Maybe he's interested in joining me for our monthly games.

Hmmmm...

After a prod from Moscovian, depending on the timing and lodging, I might be able to attend this... if all the snow has melted up here by then...  :p

THAT's what I'm talking about...  Let's see the Red Queen come down and deal with some real players...

With a pretty favorable response, DS, do you have any thoughts on which armies will be allowed?  My personal preference is to have a pretty wide selection (the last one had Imperial Guard, Necron 4.1, AMTL 2.0, Eldar Biel-Tan, Orks, and Black Legion Chaos) since it was neat to play against such a wide variety.  But I'm good with official lists too.  Everyone who showed certainly were open to the armies being played.

I'd like to have a wide selection, also. I'm not completely familiar with the current stage of development of all the armies, but I'd like to include AMTL, Necrons, Dark Eldar, Tau, etc, in additon to all of the official lists.

Does anyone have any objections to using Markconz's handbook for tourney rules?

I would actually prefer the Handbook 2008.
