The Rules are the same for both sides but across the event there will be a few special things happening that the other side won't be aware of: sneaky chaos tricks and dashing imperial genius and all that jazz!

Ryan,
I have received my pack today. I am a little confused as to how to calculate my manoeuverability rating. Do I add the Infantry speed too and divide by them too or do I just use transport speed. For example my vanaheim infantry unit has 10 infantry stands at 15cm move and 5 valkyries with speed 35. So would the formation have an average of 35 (just counting transports) or 22 (everything).
Also do all flyers count as 120 or do I not count non transport fliers?
Sorry if I'm overcomplicating this it's not into rely clear to me.

Hi Chris! Ignore non transport fliers please! That's an overlook on my part
Just take very single UNIT in the army, add up their speeds, and then divide it by the number of units.
You might have: 36 Stands of Guard 14 Chimeras 8 Sentinels 6 Basilisk 2 Warhounds 2 Shadowswords 6 Hydra for example and you just add it all up and divide by that number. Next time I'll try thinking of something easier! Yrs, R>

Hi Ryan
Thanks for the campaign pack.
Apologies I have not been online recently- combination of health and starting new job.
What was plan for overnight accomodation? Is there a Travellodge or anything closeby? What is postcode of location?
Cheers
James

Hi James:
Cut and Thrust Wargaming 61 Old Market Street, Bristol BS30EJ 0117 302 0021 · cutandthrustwargaming.co.uk
There is a travelodge in Bristol but I'd reccomend saving some pennies and maybe staying at a Hostel instead? The Full Moon is a backpackers at the bottom of Stoke's Croft, otherwise there is a city centre YHA...Otherwise it'll have to be hotels etc: I'm not one for staying at anywhere that wants to charge me over £20 for a nights sleep so I might not be the best person to ask! Google is your friend! Yrs, R>

Ryan
I think I am going to struggle. The problem is my dialysis. I will be getting home between midnight and half twelve on Friday night- and then would have to set off around 5AM on Saturday to be there on time. I have spoken to hospital- the only way I could shift the dialysis would be to move to Saturday which would obviously e even worse.
Have only just started a new job so won't be able to take Friday afternoon off.
So I think I am going to have to drop out. If someone wants to take my place then they are welcome to my ticket, free of charge. Call it my contribution to an event that I want to succeed.
Sorry for that
James

After a few last minute flutters we're full! Those in the running are:
FORCES OF THE IMPERIUM
1] WARRIOR OF ULTRAMAR/Russ (Tank Regiment) 2] CHRIS PERASON (Air Cav) 3] STU SIDLE (Steel Legion) 4] JONLUKE (AMTL) 5] Matt Barker (Space Marines) 6] Ryan (Seige Troopers)
FORCES OF CHAOS
1] EDGARSAN/Ben (Black Legion) 2] NAT/Horatio (Traitor Guard) 3] Chris Kirby (Black Legion) 4] CAI (Traitorous Tanks!) 5] Xerxeshavelock (Traitor Guard) 6] Chris (Latd)
So; a few bristol folks, a few Winter Warmer regulars and lots of new faces too: the painting, map printing, scenery making and mega battle scenario writing are all in hand for next week; please let us know if you intend to be making it for the friday evening gaming session.
Finally; how do people feel about a PLOUGHMANS for lunch on saturday: it's easy for me to source good quality ingredients for a fiver each and those that want to go veggie can just leave out the delicous pork pie part :-)
If you have any major objections to that plan let me know and I'll see what I can do.
I'm moving house this weekend; so don't expect too quick a reply! Yrs. Ryan

My apologies folks: RL(tm) has been getting in my way drastically since about a week before the tourney and I'm not in the best of shape so I must ask for forgiveness!
Nevertheless, the event happened as planned with a few last minute drop outs meaning that only 10 people arrived in the end and that was with 1 free ticket and 1 discounted 'lunch only' ticket given out. The organisers only paid for their lunch too (myself and EdgarSan) so we need to sit down and do the math's about making this viable again: nevertheless, we do have the map and other bits and pieces now :-)
The result of the campaign: Chaos got a DRUBBING! They pushed about 1/4 of the map out of their initial starting area but were then solidly held back by more experienced Imperial players: PearCSW's Vanaheim played a massive part in making sure they Chaos hordes were kept at bay; he won nearly every game that faced him by at least 3 objectives above his opponent meaning that this high speed army must of been the best performing in the war!
The Chaos Cultists commanded by a newcomer on the other hand didn't do too well and Angron's own personal retinue commaned jointly by me and Ben suffered from 'just organised a wargames event' tiredness and also got regulalrly smashed!
In the final game on Sunday the World Eaters had been pushed back into the Jungles where the Imperium finally bought to bear Ordinatus Majoris Armageddon, it's hull mounted Nova Cannon blowing Angron's monument to the dark gods to smithereens whilst the rest of the Chaos Forces, drastically out activated (at least two of the chaos armies were lent from the organisers collections and weren't the best of lists being made from gubbinz!) they simply couldn't hold the Imperium back!
Next year then: it's Orks versus the Imperium and we'll have a diferent booking system in place: the event will only run if we can get the numbers working properly. The campaign rules also need a proper looking at and we feel that we didn't get the balance of the reinforcements right: in particular the imperium having access to 3 sets of cheap extra formations via Seige Masters troops seemed to go drastically in their favour!
Ben has got some pictures of Day 1 stored on his camera, my camera didn't make it to the event due to an lack of sleep addled brain and come day 2 the shop camera had been left on all night and died a death before we could take any photo's at all! If any of the participants have photo's please please please do post them!
Yrs, R>
