Tinkering of the list is not normally needed, but having a thought about how you are going to play it is a definate must. Saying that however there are some armies which are at a disadvantage playing this scenario, your Guard won't be one of them though ;)

I gave this scenario a try last week against dptdexys' marines with my guard

after the 2nd turn, in which he had already won as he was already 3-0 up (BTS and 2 turns of 2-1 on objectives) we agreed to play turn 3 as a regular tournament scenario game (just so Dave could have the satisfaction of being the only player to ever beat me 6-0....) I came to the conclusions that

A) I need new dice
B) Guard are rubbish at this scenario.....
C) it may actually be me who is rubbish

I found it hard going, my formations struggled to activate, and even a mechanised infantry formation is SLOW when it's single moving after failing to activate.... a canny player like Dave will lay BMs on as many formations as possible so you can't reliably activate, and then the marines were easily able to grab objectives and zip around my lumbering formations

Lol, is there any tournament where fielding two arty companies would actually be a good idea? what with the cripplingly high costs and invariably having a BTS made of tissue paper and all? Would be interesting to see how it actually got on mind you...

Ha! If I can't get my Necrons together in time I was pondering an Ulthwe Warlock list.
