Boo! I was hoping you would choose the week after, not sure if I can make either event on the 11th/12th

Gives the rest of us a chance to catch up with you though Steve. ;)

Aw! Major bummer Steve dude :(, would of been really great to have you along!

Do your best to see if you can make it and I'm really sorry that those dates might be problematic for you: I'm also organising a Cycle Tour in the Highlands for 20+ people probably starting the week after the Sizzler so two big events in that space of time just aren't doable for me.

Next year, when I've got more of an idea of how well an event like this works then I'll be able to choose more suitable dates and advertise them well in advance :-)
Yrs,

As Steve says, was there any particular reason for holding your event on the same weekend as Britcon? He is not alone in wanting to attend both.

Is there any way we can pursuade you to change the date?

Hi Gavin :-)

I'm really sorry that the event has ended up being on the Britcon weekend , so far it means we're missing out on (it would seem), Steve, Tim, and Yourself attending: which is a major drawback because it means we're not inclusive of tourney scene regulars (I don't really count, seeing as I'm organising!).

The reason for setting this date is simple however; during the discussion and build up to deciding the dates only Tim and Dave, piped up that he would have wanted to come to both events and no one else apart from the those on this thread (who aren't tourney regulars) popped in to say they were interested: had I have known from the get go that both you and Steve were also interested that would have changed things dramatically.

However, the possibility of having potentially 4 regulars down is very promising: I really want to bring the whole UK community together and currently this event isn't as diverse as it could be.

The only real drawback for me is that I'm trying to organise a cycle tour possibly the weekend after, and some people have already booked their tickets and possibly holiday time. I will know on Friday which dates I'm aiming at for cycling.

Whilst slightly frustrating that you've popped in at the last minute here I will send a PM to the above parties and see what I can do: you're all experienced players and lovely chaps that I think could bring a lot to the event. However: I hereby ask that people who have already expressed a provisional interest to have their say here as to how a date change would affect them. It would be unfair to change things around due to a latecomer to the discussion when i've already got 13 people saying yes!

Folks: I need input into the above post please: how would everyone else feel if the dates were to move one week ahead?

I'm easy on dates- can do either weekend at the moment as no firm commitments. I hope to be able to sort out ticket in next couple of days.

My one issue at the moment would be Friday evening gaming. Unless someone has a spare couch I don't think I can afford a couple of days hotel- so would be looking to drive down early on Saturday AM and drive back Sunday night.

Cheers

James

It's looking good for being able to move this event forwards one week at the moment.

I have a meeting with my Bike Touring Group this Friday, and will therefore try pushing our start date forwards one week for that. I will let people know the final dates for BSS this saturday coming.

Please see this and the tickets thread for update.

Tickets still available for those who know they can do either weekend :-)

Hi- I am now able to sort out ticket. Have we clarified date yet?

What options are we going to have for accomodation nearby? As I mentioned before I am going to be able to struggle to afford to stay 2 nights unless anyone has a couch.

How would that affect games if could nt make Friday evening session?

Thanks

James

Hi james, sorry: thought I'd answered the above questions but the internet must have eaten my post!

The venue of the event is Cut and Thrust Wargaming, Old Market, Bristol. There's a couple of YHA's I usually reccomend and these are 'The Lanes' and 'The Full Moon': perhaps a few people would be up for hiring a dorm? I know Warrior of Ultramar and Co did last Winter Warmer.

The Friday night really isn't important: it's more of an incentive to get people into Bristol early so as we can start ASAP the next day and will probably just be a few 2000pt games that will have very minor effect on the campaign in total: it's not neccesary or mandatory to be there!

Looking forward to meeting all the new faces.

I will confirm the date tonight when I get home: watch this space!
