An intruiging set of lists with several different flavours of Orks, and more Ork lists than I think I have seen in virtually all of last year's tournaments. Most games were close with an exciting finale between Joe Jeffson and Alan Saunders deciding 1st place for Joe.
A special thank-you goes to James Roberts who stepped into the breach with 4 days notice to replace Mark Hargraves who unfortunately had to pulll out.

Sunday 'unlimited' tournament
As E&C says, due to limited numbers we played a much more relaxed set of games.
1st round Matt 'Abe Lincoln' Arnold expressed a desire for his Eldar to meet Joe's Tau, and a very tense game ensued. The highlight being when the Eldar Avatar materialised and charged into B-B with the Tau Crisis. The Crisis were wiped out by 5 hits, but in turn they managed to score a single hit on the Avatar, which penetrated the armour, and some vital portion of his anatomy, and he fell screaming to the ground!! Dspite this, Abe's Eldar went into turn #4 with a good chance of 2-0, and possibly 3-0; and then his dice failed fairly spectacularly (including a lone jetbike guarding the Blitz crashiing into a tree) resulting in Joe scrapping a 2-1 win. Meanwhile Barney's proxied Sisters of Battle went toe-to-toe with Ben's AMTL - and gained a 3-0 win.
2nd round Ben took his marine list into battle against the Tau. Another tense battle ensued, commencing with a 'suicide' Warhound blasting away at the Tau Crisis formation (BTS) - and the Tau AX-10 standing down in response! The marines advanced on the Tau centre with the Tau melting towards the flanks. The game hung in the balance through turn #3. However, eventually the legendary toughness of the marines won through and with Tau formations dwindling, the Marines finally won 2-0 in turn #4 Meanwhile Barney's Dark Eldar met 'Abes' Eldar. The Eldar started in a tight castle which the Dark Eldar tried to pick apart, but they fared badly at the hands of superior AA. Then the Avatar materialised in front of the Dark Eldar Tormentor, and with a cry of "it cannot happen twice" 'Abe' launched it at the Tormentor. To everyone's surprise the Avatar passed two invulnerable saves and won the assault - and things went rapidly downhill for the Dark Eldar - 5-1 to the Eldar, and with this, "1st" place to 'Abe'.
Ben and Barney were tied, Ben winning 2nd on the dice throw, Barney 3rd. Joe's excellent Tau were awarded "best painted", and Barney got "most sporting".
And finally, many thanks to Barney who stepped into Mark's shoes with only one day's notice.
