The UK team should hit the hotel around 8pm if you're still around by then! Not quite sure what the plan is at the moment for Friday evening mind you, other than probably hunting for something to eat ;)

We use the scoring systems for years and it is simple (you win by objectives, by points, draw or loose) and works well.
In the system we use, all that counts is that you win.

Just a quick few queries: (Some of these might seem a bit obvious, but thought it was best to get clarification now rather than at the end of the first round given it's an unfamiliar scoring system)

1. On some of the terminology here, when you talk of 'objectives' do you actually mean goals? The reason i ask is because you place 'objective markers' on the table, but you normally win by completing 'goals'. So in effect are the normal 5 victory conditions the same as in the Epic Rulebook for tournaments, or is it actually quite different?

2. On the example results slip, is 'Objectives Lost' effectively your opponent's completed goals? (so if you had a 3-0 victory then your objectives won would be 3 and objectives lost would be 0)

3. On another note, is the game length the same as what we could consider normal? (i.e. you check to see if anyone has the required number of goals from the end of turn 3, and if not you have a turn 4, and if it's still a draw at this point both players roll, and on the same diceroll you get a turn 5, otherwise it goes down to a points draw). All i can see is a note about the game ending when the time for the round runs out.

4. Finally, do the 'victory points' (i.e. the points for units destroyed and lost) have any impact on anything other than games ending in draws, and therefore do they need to be noted in the case of a game that sees a clear win to one player?

Thanks for pointing that out.
It's goals, as described in the tournament game rules. I'll go through the document to change the wording.

Goals, as described in the tournament game rules

Sorry I assumed I mentioned that we use the Tournament Game Rules, so there would be only a rule needed in case the time runs out. I'll rephrase that.

Not for the tournament, but it will give an indication to how the game went. See it as a service to interested parties and statistic freaks.

Edit: Trying to get the quote indentations right :(

Good luck to all this weekend. Take many pictures. And let's show the world it doesn't matter what country you're from or what language you speak... everyone makes the same sound when they roll a double one.

It depends On what You want to buy. There is a small shopping center on the other side of the street.
The Altstads Spandau is just 4 Underground Stations away. There are a lot of Shops.

Tournament this weekend! Who do you think will win?

Well, obviously Norfinger is the best team. Duh! But who is going to take second place? Here is my guess at the final ranking:

2. UK
3. Germany
4. Sweden (sorry!)

Hehe, i'd say that we're all going to assume our team is going to win, so as to the others? difficult to say really given all we really have to go on at the moment are the submitted lists (and there's probably a fairly good chance that we might all play very differently to each other). Going by the lists though, i'd go for:

1. UK
2. Sweden
3. Germany
4. Norfinger

Given the earlier jingoistic posts, I feel it only right to remind people of the British heritage in Winston Churchill's famous "Fight them on the beaches" speech.

Good luck to all, and thanks to Brumbear for organising the first such competition.
