My white scars vs mark's emperors children...

Turn 1 - EC win strategy and alpha strike... daemon knights double forward on the far left, shoot the assault marines killing 2 but the SC makes his invulnerable save. Questor doubles forward on the far right and kills 3 land speeders who break. WS cruiser barrage does nothing, tacticals drop in on left and right flanks killing the Questor and breaking the Knights. Predators (WS and chaos) both advance towards the centre right. Some of the EC double forward but some fail to activate. T-Hawk full of bikes ground attack a Subjagator in its deployment zone and kill it.

Turn 2 - Chaos termies teleport in to support noise marines that are facing off against tacticals and assault marines at the half way point on the right side. WS win strategy. Assault marines charge noise marines doing a bit of damage but break. Tacticals retain to march away from the termies. Chaos predators single and shoot the bikes (BTS), and then the SC's noise marines assault and kill all but one attack bike which breaks and escapes. WS predators assault and break the remaining Subjagator in the centre. Chaos spaceship barrage kills a tactical unit on the right. T-Hawk embarks full strength tacticals on the left flank. Subjagator fails to rally.

Turn 3 - WS win strategy. SC commands the remaining 2 speeders to join his assault on defilers. The SC makes his second invulnerable save of the game and, with the help of the tacs supporting, they kill two defilers and the last one breaks. Nearby the chaos predators and chaos marine squad speed towards the WS blitz but can only contest it for now. Chaos termies assault and wipe out the WS predators and consolidate to take central objectives. The two noise marine formations march to their home blitz. At that point the T-Hawk with tacs couldn't make much difference wherever it landed so, as it was late, we called it a straight draw. I wouldn't have fancied my chances if we'd continued though.

Yay, the first game of the league and the first draw, hehe
Thanks for the report, ffoley.

Nice one guys. Glad to see Mark struggling against invulnerable saves after our non league game the other week. Think he made half a dozen of them!

That was due. 9 hits on his daemon knights, who already had a BM with crossfire the other week. Didn't even break them. Admittedly, swings and roundabouts as I took 3 wounds of a plaguehound shooting at it with a vampire at the weekend.

Yep, after last week I was certainly due an invulnerable save comeuppance!

Very close game like the battle report said.

Nick accidentally used an extra unit of tbolts in his game with Mark so we've agreed to call this a draw in Mark's favour to make good the slight (but totally accidental) difference in points.

You're history's greatest monster.

That said, as Mark doesn't seem to notice these things I might sneak another Cyclops onto the board when I play him. I'm sure it will be as inconspicuous as a 2nd unit of tbolts

Bonus points to Nick for spotting some errors in the fixture list. New version is uploaded and hopefully now entirely consistent. Maybe double check to make sure you're arranging your games for the right month. Apologies for any confusion caused.

My squats ongoing ability to win initiative rolls against Mark's strategy rating 4 armies means his good play continues to lose out to my good luck. 2-0 to the squats on turn 4. Great game though. First 3 activations on turn 1 resulted in one unit destroyed, 3 units broken and another 1 bm from breaking. Brutal.

So Radek and Myself played our game last Thursday.

Unfortunately I arrived late, just after 8 and Rad had to go just after 11 or so, In the intervening time we only managed to get through 3 activations into turn 2!

As Rad had to dash he said I had the game, but I'm happy to call it a dead draw as that's usually what happens when you run out of time in a tournament game.

Was a good game. Given how brutal the 1st turn was I was surprised it even came down to contesting objectives!
Following its performance in this game, the Cyclops has gone to the top of my 'to be painted' pile >:D

Yeah, 2 dead scout titans, a broken scout titan with 1dc left and 3 dead daemon Knights is a decent damage output! I freaking love that thing ;-)
