I have to say, even though I was unable to play, I enjoyed the evening very much. It was great to be able to watch two games being played and enjoy the chat and banter.
Sorry that I couldn't give you a game Jon, I hope you didn't feel too much like it was a wasted trip. Do give me a call or PM so we can schedule something.

sorry for the delay replying I'm getting some more terrain ready for a 40k team challenge.

@Stu's Idle, usually 3k is the starting point, the bigger tablesmake a difference for flyers, its only when the games get to 5k that guard start to take over,

@moredakka, yeah bit of an issue with the tradestand.

back to the thread... photo's soon of another table with a crashed meteor theme. I also realise that Plymouth is too far for most for an evening, but will happily throw our doors open for a weekend days gaming and meetup, what could be better than 6 8x6 of epic gaming

Well myself and stu squeezed in the most in depth discussion game of epic ever (I think 5 hours?) With lots of nail biting "this dice to decide the game", a massive debate of the tactical merrits of a particular ruin, and about a half hour rant about why I don't like gargants, and the new found knowledge that actually warhounds are exceptionally good at shooting light vehicles even if they are apparently rubbish at walking through terrain. All of which resulted in a hard fought 2-0 victory for myself at the end oftturn 4 :)

I have to say, even though I lost, I really enjoyed that game. Thanks Jon, not just for the game but also your patience as I stood there for 20 minutes trying to decide what to do each activation. Probably one of the most educational games I've played in a long time... bloody garrisoning orky gits... Oh and those copter things are Cads too, not to mention scorchers... I do like warhounds though.

On your marks, get set, GO!

Same Bat Place Same Bat Time folks! Next Tuesday is month number 2 at the now world renowned 'Bristol EPIC CLUB'!!! (The name's staying dammit.)

Last month saw 4 Epic conflicts grace the tables for our inaugral escalation league which this month increases in size to 3000pt games; match ups are to be declared on the evening based on your last games tournament points so no second guessing which forces you'll be up against!

If you're yet to come along and want to join the league then there's always a chance to play catch up games before and after tuesday so as everything evens out; this is a very relaxed league after all; why else would we hold it in a pub?!

New players and vistors are always welcome; we meet every first Tuesday of the Month, 6pm onwards, at The Old Duke Blues Tavern in Central Bristol :-)

See you all soon!
Ryan

*Off to paint some titans!

Another good day. Shame that only my Warhounds could shoot straight. When I rolled 3 1s for my first Shadowsword Company volley I suspected it might be one of those days. That combined with some truely rookie errors spelled my doom... If only I'd declared his Shadowsword inter-mingled, it wouldn't have been free to take that objective, put a blast marker on my Warhound and break it winning Nat the game... Oh, if only.
I suspect my supreme commander was executed by a commissar for that one (but not the commissar who died in a flaming Shadowsword... note to self: don't leave the tank with the commissar in 2mm in front of the other two).
Thanks Ryan for organising these games and thanks Nat for a very entertaining game... shame we couldn't have played a turn 4, I think it would have been crazy.
