Tickets go on sale from Saturday. No idea on the score system but I hope it changes from previous years.

Any one got hold of a rules pack to check the scoring system? I was able to get one early for last years tourny.

I think that we need to hear if Matt was able to give his input or not, that will be the difference.

I asked Matt about that at London and he said he hadn't been contacted by GW.

The rulespack is now up on the warhammer world blog

After seeing it I'm really not sure if I'm going to attend-

WIN 30 points
DRAW 10 points
LOSS 1 point
CONCEDE 0 points

Then a victory bonus-
ALL 5 GOALS 3 points
4 GOALS 2 points
3 GOALS 1 point

Full marks to them for managing to find a scoring system worse than their previous one.

Looks like power-gamers heaven to me. We are going to get some brutal results.

That is a pretty bad system, cant say I am suprised.

As regards going I figure you just have to look at it as a once a year slightly quirky tournament - think of it like your going to a football tournament instead 3pts for a win, 1 for a draw and at the end of the tournamnet it might be decided on goal difference :;):

More seriously I am actually more annoyed that there is still a very tight 2 hrs a game which you can bet includes set up time. Combined with 1 and a half hours for lunch (or 30 minutes for lunch and an hour wondering around bored waiting for the next game) and another 30 minute break in the afternoon.

Now all we need is a guy shouting down a loud hailer to a bunch of 40K gamers to make the weekend complete.

Hmmm, lots of 4 turn beatings then!

I still think I'll go, if nothing else to show GW that Epic is alive and well.

I'd really love to go to this one, simply because it's GW's only official epic tourny. I can live with the dodgy points system but two hours a game is a right turn off!

I am very tempted to learn the EA rules in time to go to the GW event as it would not be too far for me to travel. After some of the comments I may have to think again.
2 hours per game! Sounds like a total misery. I don't think my tolerance levels could cope with what I pre-conceive the GW organisation to be like either.  :oo:  (Perhaps an unfair comment but still a worry.)

I still think I'll go, if nothing else to show GW that Epic is alive and well.

Sorry mate but I have the feeling that GW are too busy counting their money to care over much. Still, I think forums like this reflect the fact Epic is still alive more elegantly than GW ever could.

Ah heck! If everyone brings Space Marines it might not be that painfull!

Some folk in GW are interested in making extra sales on top of the stuff that sells itself - as, apparently could be wintessed at the baltimore GD epic tournament. Unfortunately the folk at Warhammer World appear to be dullards, there are no such bright sparks there! (witness the recent blood bowl held there...)

We just have to get our heads down and play.

As the London Sunday games showed, you can still play games in two hours. You just have to be sociable in the long delays inbetween. Its a question of people playing and not spending 20 minutes considering what to do. Get a plan in your head and impose it on your opponent.
