Echoing everyone else, Thanks all for a great day out, and to Ryan for running the show as well as competing which is quite a feat in its own right.
My 'quirky' Eldar was designed to be an anti-titan army based around three Cobras, which I wanted to use to try to establish their merits (or otherwise). In order to give the Cobras a chance, I built a high activation list intending to couble them into position at the end of the 1st turn, ready to sustain on the chosen target in the 2nd turn. Sadly, two out of three of my opponents 'cheated' by using unsporting lists without any titans for me to pick on
(Further comments to be put in the Cobra thread)Game #1, Horatio - standard IG list
Horation spread out the guard advancing two mechanised companies in support of his BaneBlade SHT company, while keeping two singleton Shadowswords back to take potshots while covering his HQ company and artillery. In a wierd reversal of fortunes, he then proceeded to have my usual appauling dice, while I was throwing even better than Dptdexys. In the end he kept enough stuff around his BTS to prevent me from clipping it. 3-0 to me
Game #2, Jon - Ianden Eldar
Since Jon's army was based around 3x strong airborne assaults, I castled everything together to use my AA and Rangers to hold off the assault and then try to pick off his five ground formations. Jon cleverly concentrated his assaults on the one side of my castle that was not protected by Cobras on OW. Indeed One of his Vampires failed to activate. The game turned on two assaults that I initiated against his Wraithguard, which both resulted in drawn assaults - and the complete destruction of my Aspects and both Guardian formations. Things went downhill from there, and I was lucky to limit the game to 0-3 to Jon (who went on to win the tournament).
Game #3, Darren - Orks (and a titan - of sorts - hooray!!)

So I castled again, directly in fron of Darren's Super-Stompa, determined to prove the Cobras capabilities. Darren spread out his army right across the table, keeping his empty Landa and Fighta-Bombaz to harrass any impetuous Eldar. The Orks dashed forward as usual, pounded by Eldar artillery and Tanks, and when the Orks had run out of puff, I activated the Cobras - two parked themselves right in front of the beast, but one failed to respond even to the Autarch (who had flown in to supervise things)

.
All rested on the 2nd turn activation - which I won! So I tried to get the reluctant Cobra forward - but it refused as the Autarch ahad flown off again

.
Darren sportingly let me roll a few dice to prove the deadly nature of the position; both Cobras promptly failed to activate! And had they actually sustained, the two single hits they would have caused would have left the beast dented but still active . . . .
So instead Darren assaulted them as an intermingled target and routed them (although he was surprised by their resilience). The Avatar (on the hill) led some Guardians in an assault to exact their revenge, while the Orks had a go at the grounded Aspects - - but the time ran out, and with both side having much still to play with, we reluctantly called it a draw.
Many thanks to Darren, Jon and especially Horatio for very sporting and well fought games in which dice played a significant part as usual
