So, it seems we've decided on a weekday for the GW-sponsored Epic tourney in London (Unless the vote swings at this late stage).

As there are only 4 6x4 tables available for the tourney, which would be preferable, Singles (8 players) or Doubles (16 players in 8 teams).

In the case of Doubles, each player would bring 1500pts, whilst for singles it would be a standard 3-match 3kpts tourney.

At the end, there is ~£150 in Epic models for prizes for the various winners (Maybe spread out amongst the top 5 teams, plus 'best painted' and 'best sports'?), plus maybe a free Tee-shirt or two.

Personally I'd like to see a Doubles tourney, simply because it's never been tried before!

Well a weekday rules me out, but a doubles tourney would be the way to go, both as a way to get more people into fewer tables, and as a way to tie up novices with veterans

Although my preference is for a doubles tournament (as it would be something different) on a weekday, you realise that only 8 people voted for a weekday so what is the intention if we get alot of votes for a doubles tournament and then say only 10 players can actually make it to a weekday tourni.

Also could you post a day or date (even if only a rough one) and some sort of intended schedule as although I have voted for a weekday, thats pretty dependant on such things.

Yep, once the date is booked it will be easier for all to judge what to do. I'd go with the intention of doubles but if there is not enough interest reserve the right to go back to a traditional tournament.

I'll see if we can get a date pinned down soon.

I voted for doubles ad lowest SR.

However I would prefer:

Blind doubles (so I can turn up)
average SR (we can al add 2 numbers and divide by 2)

I had another chat with the GW manager today ... he'd prefer to see the tourney held after the summer holiday period if possible...
