I'm discussing options with Emperors Shadow. Will we be within the congestion zone, or is there a chance to park outside it at a safe place and then public transport in?

by my reckoning around ?70 for a Petrol car

This is why I drive tiny Jalopies... ~?35 to get to Mansfield and back. :)

The pub is a few hundred metres outside the congestion zone.

As E&C says, the pub is in a residential area covered by parking restrictions, just north of the Congestion zone. However, the congestion charge only applies Monday-Friday, 07:00-18:00. It does not apply at weekends, after 18:00, or on English public holidays.

I will check up on the parking restrictions and alternative parking arrangements and post them here,  though if you know any 'locals' who do not mind you parking up for the weekend, travelling in by London transport is also an option.

Time to get your entries in folks

21 people (22 including me) are ?interested? in the London tournament, 10 have officially entered, and I am keeping a space for Hena who has indicated he may be able to get over from Finland.

Space is limited to an absolute maximum of 20 people, so get your forms and fees in now to avoid disappointment. (This will help me firm up the numbers for each day, and I will keep the official list of entrants here so you can see how many places are left.)

By popular demand it is being run as two separate events; a "formal" competition on Saturday, and an "Experimental" day on Sunday. ?10 gets you into either or both.

Please add 'Ryan' to the interested category on the Exp day (He has Tau).

Also, could you email me so I can officially enter.

The great thing about looking at the list of players is that there are several who I have never heard of brilliant fresh faces.

At present, even the "Experimental" Sunday looks like it will be completely full, so I am starting a 'Reserves' list with Ryan at the top.

Given the interest being shown in this, could any remaining "interested" people who are unable to attend please let me know ASAP ?- so I can allow others to enter.

Hello, long time lurker here!

Followed a link to this thread from the SG site.

I've recently dusted off my old Epic 40k stuff and have been keen to start playing (find opponents) for E:A.

I'm really interested in the tournament in London at the end of next month.

My question is this; While I would have no problems turning up and being the whipping-boy as I've only played a couple of learning games, would the other participants be put off at having to play me?

I don't want to put anyone in a position where they've travelled and spent money to attend, only to have to play someone who won't really pose a challenge!!

Thanks in advance guys.

Reedar

I can't see a problem either, and the Sunday experimental day should be a more relaxed day than the normal tournament games.

Cheers for that TRC.

I'll have to try and engineer being in London on a Tues with work.  Otherwise it could be tricky getting up there on a 'school-night'!

In any case, I'd better get painting up my stuff...

I really wouldn't worry, with some of the more experienced players, ok me, not doing as well as previous years you should fit in nicely.

Hi Reedar

The main issue regarding the event is one of space - we are already effectively oversubscribed for both days assuming everyone one on the list actually enters, and I am starting a "reserves" list with you and Ryan on it. PM me, and if the others don't get their forms and fees in by the end of the month, then you will be most welcome.

As TRC says, you can always try coming on a Tuesday night anyway. Check here for directions.

Because of the interest, I am also actively considering holding another event later in the year, probably late summer / autumn, so if all else fails, keep "lurking" and enter that one.
