Here's my half of the stuff. This Army list, unit stats and special rules replace all prior versions of the Demiurg.

Jaldon and I have done our best to retain the originality of both our lists, but consolidate the stats and unify the points costs. The formations will be different in many cases, but the costs are roughly equivilant, which will serve us well regardless of which list you choose to playtest. Our hope is that you wil try both regardless.

so...

THE DEMIURG CONSORTIUM 4.0

Demiurg Consortium armies have a Strategy Rating of 3. All Demiurg Infantry, Vehicle, Artillery, Air Wing and Spacecraft formations have an initiative of 2+. All Mobile Combat Fortresses and Tunnel Boring Machines have an initiative of 1+.

DEMIURG CONSORTIUM BROTHERHOODS
THE IRON-BREAKERS LEAGUE (8 iron-breakers) 300 points
THE ALLIED SAPPERS GUILD “SANDHOGSâ€Â

Glad to see the Demiurg list is still going, many thanks to epilgrim and everyone else who has put time into this.

I've sadly not got my army out in a while (I reverted into an ork phase), will try give this list a play test sometime.

Ok.  this may be a completely stupid question but with respect to the Linebreaker Grand Battery Brotherhoods and Locals is the cost for the mole mortar for each unit chosen as a mole mortar or a single cost to upgrade as many as you want.  IE a brotherhood of 6 mole mortars costs 225 or 350?  That being said I tried out the 4.0 list for the first time today against a friend's very speedy ork list.  This was my list

Ironbreaker Brotherhood:  Replaced 2 Ironbreakers with a hearthguard which was upgraded to a merchant prince: 400 points (I had put an Armsman Local here but we were questioning the mole mortar cost so I pulled them) this was the BYS objective

Ironbreaker Brotherhood:  300 points

2 x Armsman Brotherhoods:  500 points total

1 x Grand Battery Brotherhood: 6 Mole Mortars:  350 points?

1 x Grand Battery Brotherhood: 6 Thudd Guns:  200 points

1 x biker brotherhood:  2 Trikes

3 x 1 Overlord 600 points total

2 x Iron Eagle Gyrocopter formations: 400 total

3000 points

His list was approximately this.

2 x 12 dethkoptas

1 x 24 kult of speed buggies

1 x blitz brigade,  10 gunwagons, 2 flakwagons

1 x 10 stompas

1 x uge mob with the warboss,  mounted in battlewagons and 1 battlefortress.

1 x 6 stormboyz

This is one of his standard lists with the go big and go fast theme.

the dice were absolutely critical and brutal in the whole game.

he garrisoned the stompas and his stormboy screen.  I garrisoned the bikes and one armsman formation.

I got first activation and promptly went and did a 6 BP disrupt barrage from the mole mortars onto the stompas,  had 6 under the templates,  managed to hit them all so there were 8 BMs on the unit and actually managed to kill 2 of them to break the formation right off.  My friend then stated that his first impression was of severe bentness of the list.  That changed drastically as he managed to close in on me.  By the end of turn 2 I was pretty much hemmed in near my deployments.  My lack of transports (I need to dig up some plastic rhinos to use as the spartans) really hurt me in this game.

The overlords though were fairly amusing in that they actually did a bit of damage on their own and one of them actually managed to fend off a formation of 10 dethkoptas that assaulted it (yes said dethkoptas had 8 BMs on them but... :))

For very dumb players (me) could you give a translation guide from the new names to the old models and list which models are new?

a Lineholder Grand Battry Brotherhood formation of Mole Mortars is 225, The LGB Local Affiliate is 125.

Quick note: facing 10 stompas your LGB formation could not break the formation by itself as in your example it would have only generated 7 BM (6 hits +1 extra BM). Regardless, hitting all 6 with 2 templates is impressive; were they packed tightly?

As you noticed lack of mobility is crucial for most armies and the Demiurg can be a very fast Army, a foot slogger or a mix. I find a mix is best.

a few suggestions:

- get Spartans, they are essential if you are going heavy on infantry
- try a pair of Overlords supporting your best infantry unit, very effective in Assault

thanks for posting your game notes!

On Mole Mortars I always thought it was +25pts for the whole formation.

Names (Demiurg/Squat)

Iron-Breakers - Warriors
Sandhogs - Berserkers
Armsmen - Thunderers
Hearthguard Cavalry - Bike version of Hearthguard (Uses Guildmaster bike)
Autonoms - Robots

Merchant Prince - Living Ancestor
Legate Marshall - Warlord
Trade Factor - No Equivalent
No Equivalent - Guildmaster
No Equivalent - Lord

Everything else is the same name. Characters are pretty ad-hoc stands built for personal taste and Hearthguard are merged with Exo-Armour (Although the Squats differentiate Exo-Armour on characters while Demiurg characters can only go on Hearthguard that have Exo-Armour stats anyway).
