Finally, I've made time to update my lists. Ordo Malleus Inquisition Task Force So if anyone wants to discuss Grey Knights, here's the place. Note that there are no Thunderhawk Transporters in the list yet. |

Yep, it's exceeded it's data transfer limit. It's offline for an hour. Try again later. If anyone has any suggestions about where to host it... Neal, who's hosting your TS list? |

(CyberShadow @ Apr. 09 2008,16:50) QUOTE Hi. Plenty of room here: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/wiki/ti ... leries.php Let me know if you have problems with it. Yeah, I can't get it to work. Just get a blank white screen whenever I try to upload them. Is there a maximum file size? I have hosted some lists, so feel free to send it this way as well. Sorry that I didn't manage to put my suggestions back (there has been some unwelcome things happening in my life in last two weeks). Sorry to hear that. No worries - well, here's the list, so you're welcome to just post suggestions as they come to you. I'm emailing you the three lists I've posted today. If you could host them that would be great! |

(Lord Inquisitor @ Apr. 09 2008,23:24) QUOTE Yeah, I can't get it to work. Just get a blank white screen whenever I try to upload them. Is there a maximum file size? There is no set max file size, but the database behind the system cant cope with large file (>~2Mb). However, if the file was too big, you should get an error message. Give it another go, and if it still doesnt work, can you email me the largest file and I will try. (Alternatively, I am happy to host the files directly, if you like.) Thanks. |

It works for me now, thanks! Comments: Warrior and Support Henchment - Either get rid of them, or fix them so that you have a set number of units when you buy the Inquisitor. Epic isn't the place for this kind of variability. Gun Cutter - Delete it, regrettably there's no model. At the least get rid of the Glavian Pilot upgrade. Pegasus Landing Craft - Delete it and replace with the Arvus Lighter (As there's actually a model). Space Marines - Follow the commonly accepted price changes? Assasins - Note that the type of assasin should be selected when you write your army list. Grey Knights Shrouding - Change the -1 to-hit from 45cm to 15cm, or even all ranged shooting outside of Firefight range. Grey Knights - Why no way to get a Grey Knight supreme commander? Last Man Standing Special Rule - Delete it, it's unneeded and a little too hero-hammer for my tastes. Overall I my impression of this list is very good, and I'm tempted to play it. |

(Evil and Chaos @ Apr. 10 2008,17:17) QUOTE Warrior and Support Henchment - Either get rid of them, or fix them so that you have a set number of units when you buy the Inquisitor. Epic isn't the place for this kind of variability. Why not? Give me one good reason why this is an issue! ? ![]() I've never been tempted to use less than about 4 units in a rentiue, nor seen anyone else, but it is good to have the choice as to what composition of warriors and support I take. Gun Cutter - Delete it, regrettably there's no model. At the least get rid of the Glavian Pilot upgrade. No, and ooooh, no. Just because there's no model? Ya-boos to you! Where's your imagination? As it happens, I'm sculpting a gun-cutter-esque model, which I'll try to cast. If you want to use Forgeworld, then the aquila lander is probably big enough to use as such. (Edit: or, seeing as Forgeworld don't make one, perhaps not. Thought they did!) In any case you can find suitable minatures, GW or not. And I'm pretty happy with the Glavian. It used to be complicated, but I've got it to a dead simple character upgrade - and, frankly, I just love the image of the finest pilots in the imperium throwing a massive gun-cutter around like a fighter. Pegasus Landing Craft - Delete it and replace with the Arvus Lighter (As there's actually a model). You can see where this is going. No, I'm happy with the Pegasus and I've playtested it. But you're welcome to purchase Arvus and use them as Pegasi (which is what I intend to do when I've some money). Space Marines - Follow the commonly accepted price changes? Is there a concise list anywhere? I'm not too fussed. It's such a minor part of the list and the least-chosen ally (why do you want SM when you can have Grey Knights or Deathwatchn and air cover or titans?) that I'd rather stick to the rulebook values until they become "official". Assasins - Note that the type of assasin should be selected when you write your army list. I originally had it that way but decided to make it your choice at time of attack just for convenience sake. Does it matter that much? Grey Knights Shrouding - Change the -1 to-hit from 45cm to 15cm, or even all ranged shooting outside of Firefight range. Why? The point of the Shrouding rule in the first place was to protect GK against long-ranged firepower and aircraft (which GK can't really engage). Anyone brave enough to shoot at Grey Knights that are 20cm away better kill them! Grey Knights - Why no way to get a Grey Knight supreme commander? There is, but you've got to look for it. Check out the Grand Master upgrade. Last Man Standing Special Rule - Delete it, it's unneeded and a little too hero-hammer for my tastes. I kept finding that my Inquisitor Lord, leading as he should from the front, was getting splatted in a very unheroic fashion. It's simple enough, and it really makes the Inquisitors seem like the die-hard nutters they should be. They - and the rest of their formations - just aren't that tough, even with the support staff shenannigans, so the rule is needed to keep the Inquisitors in the thick of things and still alive to take on that Greater Daemon! Overall I my impression of this list is very good, and I'm tempted to play it. Excellent! The more playtest experience the better - and after using them you may agree (or disagree) more with why I've done things. One thing that you need to appreciate is that this is never going to be an official list. Forgeworld models or not, Andy was never going to endorse this list as anything other than a fan-list. We've been aware of this from the start, so it is more fiddly than I would otherwise consider. Yes, this list is designed for tournament play (otherwise what's the point in an army list?) but it is still going to be more of a "fun" list. So I'm not trying to conform to any model range or anything. Another thing is that there is generally a feeling to avoid new or unit-specific rules and I largely agree with this (and try to limit it in other lists). However, Inquisitorial forces are very much characterised by exceptional and bizarre forces. I've already gone through and tried to cut out any unnecessary special rules (believe it or not - you should have seen how many funky rules the early lists had!). Much of the character of Inquisitorial forces are captured by the special rules or fiddly units. Yes, I could make one type of Inquisitorial Retinue and make a sort of "average retinue" unit and do away with a special rule. But that's just flat, and fails to convey (even at the Epic level) that Inquisitors are accompanied by bands of exceptional but varied individuals. |

Why not? Give me one good reason why this is an issue! It doesn't fit with E:A's general design philosophy. Just because there's no model? Ya-boos to you! Where's your imagination? As it happens, I'm sculpting a gun-cutter-esque model, which I'll try to cast. If you want to use Forgeworld, then the aquila lander is probably big enough to use as such. There is no Aquilla Lander model. The only one that exists is 40k scale. You can see where this is going. No, I'm happy with the Pegasus and I've playtested it. But you're welcome to purchase Arvus and use them as Pegasi (which is what I intend to do when I've some money). Then why make up your own vehicle? Making up your own vehicle when there's a perfectly servicable model available is just fannish, IMHO. Is there a concise list anywhere Poke Hena for it. ![]() I originally had it that way but decided to make it your choice at time of attack just for convenience sake. Does it matter that much? Allowing choice at the time of use is a little more 'gamey', is all, and gamey is bad. Why? The point of the Shrouding rule in the first place was to protect GK against long-ranged firepower and aircraft (which GK can't really engage). Anyone brave enough to shoot at Grey Knights that are 20cm away better kill them! If shrouding has an effect at the ranges evident in 40k, it sure should have an effect at 30cm in Epic. There is, but you've got to look for it. Check out the Grand Master upgrade. He's a Commander. Hero-Hammer is bad, IMHO. Very bad. One thing that you need to appreciate is that this is never going to be an official list. I'd settle for a list that looks like I'd enjoy playing it. ![]() Thanks for taking the time to write such long replies. |
