I'd love to see how it works out!

This weekend I will be at Baltimore Gamesday with the Demiurg (3,000 pts) facing as least two different armies in the tourney.

The following weekend they will be in another tourney in CT for several rounds.

I'll do my best to snap pics and collect feedback.

Nobody Else wants to see a batrep.....................

It would be a great way to discuss further development as it would include maps of each turn and detailed commentary on each combat action, why players used their forces the way they did, commentary from the observes of the game and the judges.

However, if no one besides epilgrim (No insult intended here) wants to see a batrep in full like this then I am not going to put the needed work into it.

I'll just post the general results and leave it at that.

Yes, I got the stuff will be going over it with the concerned development Squats locally see what they think. In very many ways Thurgrimm's was a group project here locally.

If you guys want to change the lists now is the time to respond...........hello :;):

At present they are............

Speed: 5cm/ Armor 5+/ CC 6+/ FF 6+
Weapon/ Range/ Firepower/ Notes
Mega-Cannon/ 30-90cm/ 3+D6BPMW/ Slow Firing IDF
Notes: DC-3, Reinforced Armor
Critical Hit: Destroyed

They cost 125pts a piece and come in a Battery of two for 250 points. They are in the 1/3 Restricted Points part of the list.

Opponents either wack them with aircraft, as 5+ RA isn't all that great, or chase them down as that 30cm minimum range prevents them attacking, and with a move of 5cm they cannot run.

Squat players here don't use them that much because they can get more out of a Mole Mortar Battery then the Goliaths over a four turn GT scenario. When they are fielded Squat players always get Thunderfires to protect them bringing the Batteries total cost to 350pts. Why get a MW arty unit when you can get rolling bunkers (Colossus/ Leviathin/ Cyclops) That can deliver more punch, they reason.

For my two cents I have been trying to push the local group to accept a points cost raise for them to 350 pts for the Battery of two. With Thunderfire protection this would bring the Battery up to a cost 450pts.

I'd love to see your battle report.  I think it would offer a neat perspective into the problems - the game is constant, but the different players/judges all have their own views on the matter.  It would create a very balanced analysis.

Ok I will re-schedule the game, get the judges together, and get some observers to participate (Oh Honey get the grill ready some friends are coming over this week. Sometimes ya gotta entice them to come over)

Figure by this weekend or early next week I'll get it posted.

Lovely if you get such a battle and report done.

Been busy preparing for getting an interest up for Epic, so quiet silent here.

Game is tomorrow besides the two judges, and the two players there will be three other 'watchers' eating burgers from the grill and adding their two cents to the match.

After coming back victorious from Baltimore Gamesday (Best Overall), I am travelling to NEAT in Manchester, CT for a three day Epic-fest. I'll take pictures and notes.

Gamesday did not teach us anything noteworthy about the Demurg version of Stubborn as both games were decidely lost by my opponents bad luck. Regardless I have some notes about both games I will present after I get through this weekend.

Jaldon, I look forward to hearing how the Squats do!

Good work epilgrim on your victories - don't complain when luck is with you, she is fickle!

Got a game tonight against Thurgrim list 4k vs my Thousand Sons. Will keep a note of all activations and outcomes and will post a report with pics tomorrow. Will also put up on my website - shameless plug - www.thousand-sons.co.uk

Just a quick note.................

Battle over, and as usual with games between Rich and myself, it was a real barn burner.

It is going to take some time to go over the AABS tapes, I record our conversations after the battle in drawing up batreps so I do not have to depend on memory. Draw up the maps, and try to get them posted along with the report.

My PDF converter went down with my desk top puter so all I have right now is Microsoft Paint and draw thingy. Any Help................ :(

Thanks All

Jaldon :p

PS Bear in mind I am no computer wizard, just an old fart that knows how to type. :confuse:

Got my report:

Well this time we decided to up the ante and play 4k - Thousand Sons vs Thurgrim's Squats. I decided to try out the new rules for silver towers, warp places and finally also got to use my daemons.

My list also included 2 teleporting Rubric Marines, Terminators led by a Daemon Prince, Disc riders, Armoured Company and n Oracle Class Titan from the Suns of Damnation.

I faced off against 2 Goliaths, a Mole Mortar company, 2 Brotherhoods, Thunderers, Berzerkers, Hearth Guard and Trikes all backed up by a Leviathan, Colossus and 2 Overlord Airships.

With 3 units in reserve I had very little to move at the beginning and my Discs moved up to pounce on the objective next turn. They took some fire from an advancing Brotherhood in Spartans and called in Teleporting Terminators for backup. They summoned a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch and Flamers andassaulted the Brotherhood who broke and fled, my Daemon Prince and Gretaer Daemon making their Invulnerable saves (6+).

A Brotherhood marched up my left flank to secure an objective only to have a unit of rubrics teleport down, summon daemons and assault. With no luck from Tzeentch the Brotherhood held strong and the Rubrics broke.

The Silver towers decided to sustain on the brotherhood and managed to break them with 15 shots and 6 MW shots.

The Colossus rumbled forward and shot at the Armoured company who had advanced in the city. All saves were made. In the end phase my Rubrics and Brotherhood rallied.

Turn 2 saw my Terminators assault into the Hearth Guard occupying a building with the aid of fresh daemons. The Hearth guard took a beating and fled leaving an Overlord to hold the flank. The Leviathan advanced on the Terminators and opened fire removing all but 1 and leaving the Daemon Prince and Lord of Change lonely.

The Warp Palace and Colossus exchanged fire, neither side giving way. The Armoured company advanced and helped out but the Thunderers sustained from the nearby building and destroyed all but 2 Predators who broke.

More Rubrics teleported down on the rallied brotherhood but again Tzeentch cared not and the attack faltered. The Silver Towers advanced on the middle of the table to secure the objective. The Discs engaged the Thunderes and drove them off. The mortars attacked the Daemon Prince but the unit made all saves.

An Overlord doubled onto an objective and fired on the Oracle who shrugged it off and returned the gesture. The Warp Palace took shots from the Colossus but only lost 1 wound. The Berzerkers protecting the Mole Mortars doubled to the last objective on his side to secure it. The remaining predators rallied and prepared to attack the Colossus.

Turn 3 saw the the Berzerkers fired upon by the Silver Towers who removed them from the objective and claimed it with the Discs and the marching Rubrics. The Oracle and Overlord traded shots but neither could gain the upper hand. My Daemon Price and Lord of Change fired at the Leviathan but could not do much damage getting 1 critcal hit.

With little else the Squats could do they made a tactical withdrawl, giving the city to the sorcerous powers of Tzeentch.

Notes: Was a real bloody game with a lot of death happening. Great and tense game with my D Prince needing to rally on 4+ to secure the objective and win the game. He rolled a 6. Finally Tzeentch blessed me. I had an idea to use Tau drones as Silver towers but have yet to glue the guns as my tower so forgive the pics. Also for my Warp Palace I used the body of a necron destroyer and am putting tau weapons on the top to act as towers and structures. The Squats were great this game, extremely mobile in their spartans, the super heavies extremely effective at supressive fire while providing support. 3D6 for resolutiona nd rallying is really in charat with this army and gives them a gritty determination.
