I am a little surprised, E&C,that you don't support it since you put two in the Siege of Mossino Campaign (Gorgon and Macharius). I suppose it would be okay for LI to have a Gun Cutter if he "made it available" like those models seem to be?
I had two models requiring scratchbuilds in the Siege of Mossino, as the most iconic units the Death Korps use. The Gorgon especially is the heart and soul of the Death Korps of Krieg.
In contrast, this single list has the following units that require proxies:
- Gun Cutter
- Pegasus Landing Craft
- Inquisition Mobile Fortress
- Inquisition Drop Fortress
- Support Staff (Who also have a wacky Special Note)
- Warrior Henchmen
Of the list above, only the the Inquisitional Fortresses provide that kind of iconic heart to the list (They are present in pretty much every Inquisitional picture ever put out by GW). Personally, I'd abstract the Support/Warrior staff into a single unit type, possibly even change the two Inquisitional Fortresses into a single type that Planetfalls and then moves around like the Mobile Fortress, and replace the two planes which will never have models with the two appropriate Forgeworld models.
To me, this reluctance to use Forgeworld's aircraft seems the same as happened with the Black Legion army list ; FW brought out a suitable fighter aircraft, the SG list developer ignored the release and stuck with the swiftdeath, and a year later we ended up with a gimpy entry in the army list when there's a perfectly good aircraft available from FW that could have been used instead.
Having two new planes in this list when there are two perfectly good planes available from FW seems gratuitous to me ; I dunno, maybe FW has my soul.
