That would be my fault, epilgrim sent me the unit list to go over and I missed it. Yes the Guildmaster should also have leader.

Someone drew the comparison of Hearthguard to Terminators.

First the Exo-Armor worn by the Squat Hearthguard IS older then Terminator Armor, is Master Crafted as is Terminator Armor, in fact in all ways it is very much like Terminator Armor. (However Squats/Demiurg don't teleport anything so they don't in the game). In some ways it could be argued that with the better skills of the craftsmen in the Squat/Demiurg Engineer Guilds that their Exo-Armor is actually better then the Marine Terminator constructs.

The Biggest difference between the Imperial Adapts and the Squat/Demiurg Engineers is that the former look at machines as if they are god like constructs and they barely understand the true workings of those machines, while the latter sees them as inanimate machines that function because of clear mechanical principles.

Fact:(If there can be such a thing in a fictional background) the Imperium has attempted to duplicate some Squat/Demiurg technology, which the Squat/Demiurg jealously guard, and every attempt has ended in either utter failures or bonified disasters. Because of the latter the owning of, study of, and the attempted use of, Squat /Demiurg technology is banned in the Imperium. It is considered to dangerous.

So yup Marine Terminators are similar to Hearthguard (epilgrim like the subtle swipe at the Imperials here) :vD

Question about Void Sheilds/Particle Shielding and other minor differences between the Squat/Demiurg

The Squats are mostly a planet bound race that will travel in space as needed. The Demiurg are the exact opposite they prefer to spend most of their time in space and rarely live on planets for any great length of time.

The Demiurg being semi-nomadic requires that they develop systems that fit better their requirements, after all space and weight are hardly a problem if one is living most of their life on a planet but are real sensitive issue if one spends most of their life living in a ship.

Epilgrim and I both felt that the differences must be part of the two lists or it would be a complete waste of time to have either just Squats or just Demiurg, or Demiurg dressed up like Squats, but a different TO&E in the ground army, or to jam the two lists together and try to make it 'seem' like they were different.

Where it seemed logical to have them be the same (Ironbreakers/Warriors for example) then we made them the same, but where it seemed they wouldn't we decided together just exactly what those differences would be.

This was a definite co-op project between two very opinionated individuals as to just what direction each list was going to take. In effect epilgrim put in his two cents on Squat units and I did the same for the Demiurg units. So it is without hesitation that I can say all of what has been posted here, each and every unit, is as much epilgrim's work as it is mine.

For my part the Squat Army List itself is going to get a complete makeover to bring it more in line with the original SM/TL organization. For example the Warrior Brotherhood is going to be reduced in size to 9xWarriors with 1xLord with the option of upgrading the Lord with Exo-Armor, as was allowed under the old SM/TL rules. (It will have other upgrades possible, like Thunderers, Thudd Guns, etc.....)

For playtesting now just do as epilgrim suggests use the old lists and point values and just give us some time to flesh out the new lists. And of course let us know what you think when you use them.

I have fixed the oversight on THe Guild Master entry (thanks again for the spot rpr!)  :D

The discussion between Jaldon and I was very industrious and productive, not to mention in depth,  :vD  But we were both focusing on a common goal and due to several years of playtesting between us on both lists; the answers were surprisingly easy to arrive at.

silly neo-barbs...to them the 'ole "Blue Screen of Death" takes 50 "Hail Emperors" and a kilo of incense to appease the machine spirit...now where did I leave that hammer?  8v)

I am really looking forward to seeing how these perform for all interested parties. Please post any bat-reps, and by all means focus on the wrong stuff as much if not more than what works!  :)
