Necrons have their own sub-forum, and they don't even have models.  Squats are a genuine Epic race, with models and everything.  Why is this so?

Our appointed NetERC I believe are still debating the matter.  I am of the same mindset as you, however.  They have models so they should have a section and a Champion.  I am not sure but perhaps the NetERC are waiting for Jaldon and ePilgrim to come to a consensus on things before making the move.  If this is the case, I don't think we will have to wait long.  The two of them are moving along quite steadily and I wouldn't be surprised if they had it hammered out (no pun intended  ) by August.

The dedicated development boards came about from SG/Jervis assigning a development thread and AC to the race, with the races aligned with current 40K background. Squats, being written out of the bckground (unfairly, I admit. I am a squat serious fan), were not given this treatment and have therefore always remained a fan-driven development.

The best way to persuade the NetERC that they deserve promotion is to get lists co-ordinated, get some people seriously behind it, and - most importantly - get some serious playtesting of the designs and lists done.

We're trying to do that, but it's not as we are a paid design team...

if you go down a few threads, you will see that Neal responded, that yes, the potential of the Squats/Demiurg as a NetEA amry is being debated by the NetERC. Jaldon and I are resolving some issues regarding the differences/similarities of the two so we can move onto the next wave of playtesting.

Like all EA fans and GW/SG playtesters, we have never been paid either. The thing we do for the love of stubby pewter and plastic...

Hopefully, when we resolve the issues that have the lists currently positioned as competing alternatives, the NetERC will endorse the lists as a legitimate army, and the Squats minatures can be placed alongside the current WH40K races.
