3 player mayhem! Eldar, IG & Squats each spend 5k on forces. Eldar starts the game in the middle of the board in a town, IG and Sqauts set up at opposite corners of the board. There are three objectives to be captured. The Eldar player will win if he holds the central objective in the stronghold at the end of the game. The other players will win if they capture one objective and the central objective. VPs for breaking units are ignored. The stronghold cannot be destroyed but the building can be barraged to kill infantry within. The large blue card buildings have a 2+ save, all others are standard buildings with a 4+ save. The victor is the force in charge of the objective at the end of turn 6. |

Summary of battle: Turns 1 - 3 saw both the IG & Squats advancing upon the town. Both players focussed their energies on attacking the entrenched Eldar forces. Numerous Doomsday Cannon and Goliath Mega-Cannon reduced much of the town to rubble. The Eldar force was virtually decimated during this time, but there were still enough units to defend the vital fortress objective. Turns 4-5: The IG & Squats continue to trade fire while Exarchs attack the advancing Squats and Swooping Hawks cut down many IG Assault troops. All forces are thin on the ground around the objective. The Squats have the largest numbers of infantry nearby but the Eldar still have a few Howling Banshees and the IG a few Commissars... Anyone can win the game on the final turn! Turn 6: Everyone charges into the fortress (see pic 6.1). Banshees prevail in the close combat, but the Praetorians have reserved their fire... Rad-bombs and all manner of artillery clear out the building and it looks like victory could go to the Squats! But on the last throw of the dice, the IG Leviathan wipes out the last two Squat stands! With a commissar's Rhino the nearest unit, victory goes to the IG. Conclusion: This game took approx 12 hrs to play over two days. As the defending Eldar player, there wasn't much in the way of tactics to be done, it was a case of doing as much damage as possible! With VPs being thrown out the window, the carnage and destruction was massive! Most satisfying though was the fact that going into turn 6 none of us knew who would win, so the scenario worked out very well with an exciting resolution! If anyone else were to play a similar scenario, the crucial factor is to work out how quickly opponents would be able to arrive at the objectives. In our case, with large swathes of infantry on foot, the 6 turn rule worked out perfectly. If the game had ended on Turn 5, the other forces wouldn't have had a chance to reach the objective. Really good fun though and with three players rather than the usual two, it was definitely different! |

Looks like a really nice battle also the river works well. Distance is the biggest problem in NetEpic. If you want to play big(ger) battles you need space but you have to cross that distance. Choosing battlefield size & setupzones is very handy and important. great that it worked at your battle Bissler cheers |
