Welcome to the prequal of the second part of my NetEpic Campaign. This is a story and not a BatRep as such. The first part can be found here...

..............................To The Death..............................

Defeated by Angron and his Chaos Minions the Sisters of The Argent Shroud and their PDF allies have disengaged and fallen back to a nearby Mountain Range. They are currently preparing a fighting withdrawal in the hope of bleeding the Chaos Force within the highland valley passes. Only by forcing these passes can the Chaos Forces gain access to the city plains and there objective.
However, more than just the main pass must be guarded against if the Imperials are to succeed. One such pass is being guarded by elements of the 83rd PDF Battalion.
We join one of their night patrols guarding the entrance of the small valley they have been left to defend.

"This is Recon Echo-Two to Base with a sit-rep, over."

"Recon Echo-Two, this is Base go ahead, over."

"Rodger Base. We are two miles due north of the valley entrance after a full sweep of the locus and have nothing to report, over."

"That's received and understood Echo-Two, will await further sit-rep in one hour, over."

"Understood, returning to Base, out."

The weary scout force make their way back up the valley in hopes of reaching the base before morning. It has been a long and uneventful night...

But they were not the only hunters in the dark...

The ambush is swift and merciless. The first hit is the command vehicle and with it the main Comms.

The last survivor fumbles futilely with his personal comms in an attempt to get a warning out... His frantic motions attract the dread gaze of a Subjugator and his anguished scream is cut short as he too is dispatched.

Not a shot has been fired. The way cleared, the Chaos War Machines carefully proceed up the valley... ...followed by the main assault.

The story told the game is set. A small hold out force of PDF against the might of a Slaanesh assault. May the Emperor Protect.

Interesting concept ! Very Nicely done ... But being a former Recon Tm Ldr, I was hoping the Recce Boyz would have been able to call in CAS and toast the Xeno scum !  :ace:  :D

Thanks lads.

Sorry L4 these are not the top notch well trained IG but a lack lustre hastily deployed green unit of PDF (almost Militia). They know the concepts but haven't been at the sharp end too often and certainly not against 10,000 year old Veteran Daemon Engines.

Besides, it fitted the story better.

Oh goody.....I can feel a batrep coming on

My Necrons are waiting to see if Jonlukes' Monolith get picked up by Forgeworld, and my Exodites are waiting for their new friends from EW to arrive, so I'm finishing the painting on my Eldar knights for the next outing.  Looking forward to reading yours!

Well I guess PDF Militia are meat on the table for those Chaos types !    Regardless, I think it's a neat way tell a story !  With pics of models !  :D

I should be off from the 12th until mid January so hope to get a few games in. Hopefully soon but it's proving hard to organise. Just thought it would make a nice teaser. Oh and thanks L4 now I have to think out a way to include air support in the battle. (Very "We were Soldiers" style) I like this idea very much.  :)
