Ouch! Yeah, this was a a one sided game where the eldar wreck havoc on the Skitariis without mercy. The Skitariis track record aint that great right now...

Thanks for the report! This is fairly consistent with other games skitarii have played against eldar. Do you feel you could have done differently?

I think maybe played very cagey and put most things on OW on the first turn could have helped a bit. But they're outmanouvered and out activated so it's hard to deal with the Eldar.

Activation shouldn't have been a huge issue this game at least initially. Skitarii had 10 activations vs 12 for Eldar if you don't count activations in transports. What I think did you in on activations was the loss of two Sagitarii turn 1 followed by that triple retain turn 2 that seems to have broken most of your available formations. Not sure that would have played out much differently with any other army TBH. That said, we might consider a slight point drop for the Demi-century and the Ordinatus formations to help offset the cost of using some of the better titan weapons and make the demi-century more attractive.

I was playing the Eldar. Ok, i think changing avengers for thunderbolts and changing chimedons for chimeras would help the most. But small points drop on both thoose formation might help also.

Hey. I'm not sure if I played it good or bad. I tried to keep my weak activations alive. And split my my forces a little to stop the rolling assaults and go after the falcons and void spinners with the warhounds. Failing to activate the corvus sagitarii with the sc also failing to much up and support the matches corvus hurt. Lost AA and its FF support for it. I feel like it's pretty similar to guard. Just better stats and trading all the good things (leader, single super heavies, fearless commissars, thunderbolts) I know it doesn't have to be guard. And it's also going to be hard to stop any loop holes in the list with so many options. Honestly I thunk trading the avengers for Tbolts would go a long way too. Or just change the stats on the avenger to be similar to Tbolts for 150 points and 0-2, then leave them in the support section so skitarii can have its titans.

we're trying to steer as far from "guard in red hats" as possible with the Skitarii lists so adding Chimeras and Tbolts isn't going to happen since that pushes them even closer. The area I think we can make more useful thematic change is helping Skitarii ground forces function without access to Tbolts and giving them a bit more flexibility to invest in better weapons. Maybe: Demi-century goes to 225 Secutors replace commander with Leader Minorus coy goes to 250/275 Majoris goes to 325 Secutor change would have to be limited somehow. Or you'd have the Secutor upgrade making the formation nigh unbreakable.

mordoten I've read a bit of late of your displeasure of the mech skitarii. I'd just like to know if you're aware the unit upgrade of a minoris with a corvus it becomes speed 25cm? I'm a bit sold on them and run three formations. I've never really missed the drop in 5cm speed and they result in AA everywhere (at least to put a +1 on activation for coming under fire). They may not shoot well mounted, but they're very maneuverable. They're a great platform to get your skitarri where they're needed. Well supported, they're invaluable. Regards Harry

Yeah Mordoten knew about it. I learnt it after our first game. But im with mordoten. We've had 5 games now swapping who runs skitarii and end up with the same result. Vaaish has a vision for the list and that's fine. 1 more report from us and that's the 6.
