I tried out my list I am taking to Castle Assault today. I played a 3000 point game against Sisters. OMG Fearless is so powerful in Epic Armageddon. You ignore the effects of close combat resolution losses, you do not take automatic losses from Blast markers when broken, and for the sisters, it also gives you an invulnerable save when they pass their faithful test. It was a really close game. In turn 3, I killed off the Penitent Engines one of the formations of Exorcists with Hunter tank and a Mission formation which was most comprised of battle sisters. In turn 4 I killed off the Cathedral of Purification and the last of the Serephams. The Dark Eldar lost one whole Ravager Flotilla Formation in Turn 3, the Talos were wiped out in turn 2 and a whole formation of Reaver Jetbikes was finally killed off in turn 4. So many fearless formations made it hard to kill anything off from either close combat resolution, or from shooting broken formations. At the end of turn 4 it was 1 - 1 and I diced off finishing off the game. Dark Eldar won through kill points Dark Eldar losses - 1050 points (including formations at or under 1/2 strength), Sisters losses 1400 points. I was lucky that the sisters failed to get the faithful roll a couple of times and some of their formations were not fearless for the turn. All in all they have a decent mix of unit types. Most of their units have very short range with decent FF and CC stats and a good save. The Exorcist tanks and penitent engines rock. I think Marauder bombers are needed in my next sisters list, and maybe a couple smaller war engines to provide extra long range fire power. |
