TURN 1: Gargants win Initiative. G: Fighter-bombas ground attacks artillery killing 2 howitzers and 1 tractor, breaking the formation. K: AA-guns on left flank doubles forward. G: Stompas holds and move forward (1BM). K: AA-guns on right flank doubles forward. G: Supa-stompa on right flank doubles forward. K: Rapiers on right flank doubls forward and fires on Supa-Stompa for 1BM. G: Supa-Stompa on right flank doubles forward and fires on rapers killing 1 (3BM). K: Thunderbolts ground attack Supa-Stompa stripping 2 shields (2BM). G: Gargant by blitz doubles into nearby ruins. K: Thunderbolts intercept Fighter-Bombas killoing 1 (2BM). G: Supa-Stompa in middle doubles forward and looses 1 shield to a DTT (Ewoks in the forest throwing stones). K: Errants on right flank doubles forward and fires on Supa-Stompa for 1BM. G: Gargant on left flank usesd "push em harder ladz" (henceforth called "Pushem") and doubles forward firing on Paladins for 1DC of damage (2BM). K: Errants in middle doubles and fires on Supa-Stompa stripping 1 shield (1BM). G: Supa-stopma on left flank doubles and fires on AA-guns killing 1 AA-gun and 1 tractor, breaking them. K: BTS-Paladins on left flank doubles forward and fires on Supa-Stompa stripping 3 shields (1BM). K: Paladins in middle advances to the left and fires on BTS-Gargant strippping 1 shield (1BM). END PHASE: BTS-Gargant rolls 1 on the fire chart and takes 1DC of damage and 1 extra fire (hehehe) AA-guns rallies. Howitzers rallies. pictures to come... |

G: Supa-stompa on left flank retains and doubles forward. it then fires on BTS-Paladins doing 2DC of damage (4BM). K: Errants in middle doubles forward and fires on Supa-stompa doing 2DC of damage (3BM). K: errants retain and engages the same Supa-Stompa. They win the combat with 2DC of damage against 1DC on them. G: Supa-stompa on right flank doubles forward and fires on rapiers killing 1 rapier and 1 tractor, breaking them. K: AA-guns on left flank Marshalls and clears both their BM:s. G: Stompas doubles into central forest and fires on Errants for 1BM. G: Supa-Stompa retains and engages the same errants. The Supa-Stompa wins the combat. K: AA-guns on right flank holds and fires on Supa-stompam stripping 1 shield (1BM). G: Fighter-bombas stands down. K: Thunderbolts ground attacks Supa-Stompa on right flank stripping 1 shield (1BM). G: BTS-Gargant holds and fires on BTS-Paladins for 1BM. K: BTS-paladins engages BTS-Gargant and intermingles Supa-stompa. Of 18+12 supporting fire 5+ FF hits they manage to hit only 6 times!! The Knights loose the combat with 3DC lost and 1 DC of damage inflicted... (what. the. darn.) END PHASE: Supa-stompa suffers 1DC of damage from fires. Gargant suffers 1DC of damage and 1 extra fire from fires. BTS gargant suffers 2DC of damage and 1 extra fires from fires (hehehe) Supa-stompa rallies. Rapers rallies BTS-rallies with the help of the Supreme commander.

K: AA-guns on left flank advances and fires on Supa-Stompa doing 1DC of damage (2BM). G: Supa-stompa holds and fires on errants killing 1 knight (4BM). K: Errants holds and fires on Supa-stompa for 1DC of damage (2BM). G: Supa-stompa on right flank doubles and fires on rapiers killing 1 rapier and 1 tractor, breaking them. K: Paladins engages Supa-stompa on left flank. They kill the Orky Behemoth foor the loss of 1 knight (2BM). G: Stompas holds and fires on Errants killing 1 and breaks them. K: Howitzers advances to knight blitz and fires on Supa-Stompa for 1BM. G: gargant doubles towards blitz and fires on broken paladins wiping them out. K: something happens, forgot to write it down... G: Fighter-bombas ground attacks howitzers killing 1 howitzer and 1 trojan breaking them. G: Supa-stompa tries to retain but holds and moves forward. K: Thunderbolts BTS-Gargant for 1DC of damage (2BM). K: Thunderbolts BTS-Gargant for 1BM. END PHASE: Supa-Stompa in middle take 1DC of damage from fires and is destroyed. BTS-Gargant takes 3DC of damage from Fires and breaks(muhahahaha!!) Supa stompa near Knight blitz rallies Errants rallies. Howitzers rallies. Rapiers fail to rally. Supa-stompa rallies. BTS-Gargant rallies. BTS-Paladins (now a lone Baron) fails to rally.

TURN 4: Gargants win initiative (oh for darned sake!!) G: BTS-Gargant on left flank doubles and shots at Paladins for 1BM. G: Supa-Stompa on left flank retains and engages the AA-guns (with the help of the Supreme Commander). It wipes the formation out. K: Paladins engages BTS-Gargant. The Gargant get s wiped out for no losses! Knights claim BTS objective. K: Thunderbolts try to retain but stands down (even with the help of the Supreme Commander). G: Supa-Stompa on left flank doubles and fires on AA-guns killing 3 units breaking them. K: Errants on right flank advances and fires on stompas for 1BM. G: Fighter-Bombas stand down. K: Thunderbolts stand down. G: Supa-Stompa by Knight blitz doubles to the blits and fires on the lone tractor thats left from the howitzers and wipes out the formation. It claims the Blitz. G: Gargant in middle doubles towards lone Baron of the BTS-Paladins. It opens fire and manages to destroy the Baron (Nooooo!! 18 6+ shots and he manages to do 2 wounds on a 4+ RA + Inv save!!!) The BTS Objective is claimed. We end the game there without doing the end phase. Nothing could have happened that would affect the outcome. Gargants win with 3-1 (BTS, Blitz and T&H vs BTS) in Turn 4.

My thoughts: A really fun and brutal game. I f-ed up spreading the fire too much. Should have concentrated on taking out his supa-Stompas instead. The failed big engagement in turn 2 had me rolling some abyssmal to hit rolls and kinda cost me that flank. Would i have won it The game could have ended on points or even a victory to me maybe. The Gargant list felt good. Not to OP really. Supa-Stompas with 6BP are really good and worth their points. Maybe they could be costed at 300 and still be worth taking. This is a Titan list though so i would be glad if people mostlky took gargants and Supa-Stompas in their forces. UvenLord used the "Pushem" rule alot and it accounted for 9DC of damage durting the game. That feels like a good enough drawback for the extra movement. The fires played a huge roll in me getting the BTS objective actually. Stompas still feels "meh" for their points but did ok during this game. The plan is to have UvenLord command the Gargant list for 2 more outings and then we'll switch it around. I will probably make Partisan_Nick field his DKoK against i also! If nothing weird like all wins shows we're going for approved! :-) |

I'm not sure how you mean. The list has never had fewer activation i think. I have to check the old list and see how it was formatted back then just to be sure. |

Hmmm... check the 2.3 version of the list and the format (3 support choices per Gargant choice) was the same back then. Has there been another format in any version? |

Fun game indeed! I will gladly play a couple of games with this list ![]() So my thoughts about the Gargants... This game was a lucky/unexpected win. I was aiming at a draw and winning on points. Fires is fun and simple way to handle the slowness of the Gargants. Perhaps I used them a little too much but it felt orky and the drawback comes later so... ![]() Stompas is not so good. I wanted to try them but they really didn't perform. I rather take another Supa Stompa next time. Not sure what to do about them yet. They are not worthless just not so good... The restriction om 3 units for every Gargant prevents spamming in a good way. Sadly this also make the competition for the 6 or 9 slots very hard so my choice will almost always be between SupaStompas or airplanes. Not sure it is the right way to go but cheap gargants worked out alright I think. 3 gatlin guns was not perfect for the Knight matchup but still it was a lot of dice to throw ![]() So basically they feel solid. Will try out some more games against more "normal" armies. (Not WE assault oriented) |
