Awesome stuff! Any comments on the Gargant list? Saw that you used the flakka-dakka upgrade. Thanks for doing theese great reports! |

Plenty of errors from the Eldar command. Yeah, with max shields (12) the Great Gargant was probably a Gargant too far. However there were a lot of mutually supporting Supa-Stompas to attack them effectively. Lots of activations for a Gargant list and not much for AP armed troops to fire at. The Eldar were distinctly out-ranged by the Ork weaponry, 60 cm MW BP and 90 cm TK, was what I think I faced. With a relatively open field it made getting the Cobras within range (30 cm) a challenge, especially with their 25 cm move. That was of course compounded by choosing corner deployment which gifted the Gargants and others with a line of sight to most hiding places without too much effort. Only one point of damage to boilers bursting, carefully and strategically pushed harder by war-boss Mark. Probably also did not make enough use of the multiple engage options that are a strength of Eldar. A lack of hit and run tactics, I think. That was also in part an army selection choice with the Eldar forces. And I placed the Avatar just 1.5 cm too far from the Great Gargant so forced to use the rather low powered FF5+ from the Epic UK list and then had hits on Eldar Dire Avengers (AR 5+) rather than on the Avatar's armour (AR 3+/Invulnerable Save). Should have left the broken Farseer close enough (after that formation broke) to call the Avatar to within 15 cm of the Great Gargant. Live (or not) and Learn. Altogether plenty of spirit stones to animate Wraith constructs for future use. |

Hi Mordeten, thanks and cheers for your work on the list. I think Flakka Dakka is a more appropriate upgrade, the MW tower was overpowered for 25 points. Of your options for the "push em harder" I think option 1 is best (stays as is but no reinforced boilers which you'll note I didn't use in this game). The others seem too harsh. I tend to agree with Kyuss that the list needs this ability to actually be useable to make up for the major movement plus shooting deficits the list suffers from compared to other Titan lists. I'd also like to see the option for slightly more weapon variation on the Supa-Stompas - same as other Titan lists have for their little titans. E.g. a 0-1 'Little-Zzap' gun option to replace mega-choppa or soopa gun. Little Zzap loses either some range, damage, or to hit value compared to the bigger zzap guns. Whatever is needed to balance it. (I note the Vanguard Supa-Stompas come with zzap gun, macro gun, and buzzsaw arm) |
